Let's talk about horror games that aren't Resident Evil or Silent Hill.
What are you playing? What are your favorites?

Check out Eternal Darkness. I think you'll like it.

SO AM I
STILL WAITING
FOR THIS WORLD TO STOP HATING
CAN'T FIND A
GOOD REASON
CAN'T FIND HOPE TO BELIEVE IN

Stalker SoC is my favourite I think. Only maybe 20% of it is scary if that, and it's more eerie scary than horror scary apart from a few moments, but the environments are done really well especially the labs

Can't see shit in this game. Literally opening the map every few steps so I don't miss the few pixel wide hallway I have to walk through. Liked the combat system though.

I need to give it a replay. I haven't played a GameCube game in 20 years but I remember that one being really good
>>
>>12758321
This was a fun game, the sequel was kind of a downgrade though.

Is not really a horror game also this site really overhyped this game to me. Its pretty linear and i thought it was some super exploration heavy game.

awesome game

Siren 1 is still the only horror game to actually rustle my jimmies. I really wish I coukd find a game that makes me feel the same way. Siren 2 is fine for what it is but doesn't have the same intensity.

Siren 1 scared me up to the point i figured the combat out
plus the save-state cheesing on the emulator lol

I replay Fatal Frame 1 every year, such a fun little game.

>better then code veronica
>did the re2 zapping system right
>has a unique plot and world building

Retarded take, Carrier is half baked at best
>>

One day we will get a patch to have the game and English with fixed cameras.
>>
the suffering games were my shit

I have never been more afraid than when I played Kuon. The carnage of everything and vagueness of the threat combined with the angles feeling like you're being watched made for the scariest initial hour. Wish the voice acting was better though.
>>

This game has so many annoying segments but its also somehow so damn enjoyable.
>>
>>12758294
I think Fatal Frame 1-3 are top-tier horror games. While it's much rougher around the edges, I also really like Haunting Ground, and I think it would be nice to see a game that expanded on its mechanics.

>>12759989
I wish Siren didn't have so much obscure bullshit you had to do to progress. I was really enjoying the game until it started looping through the stages because I hadn't fulfilled various sub-objectives I didn't even know existed. That was enough to completely ruin it for me.

>>12758301
That is a good one. I really like just the general concept of the book being passed through the ages, with the protagonists slowly growing more aware of the threat and better able to counter it.

>>12761521
I like Kuon, but I didn't find it particularly unsettling. I mostly just got startled a few times by those ambushes that happen if you're running through certain areas.
>>
>>12758294
Was thinking about giving picrel a try, I heard it's like a western take on the SH psychological horror formula but actually really good and doesn't just shamelessly copy the big twists and monsters from SH2.

>>12759989
Siren 1's puzzles were fucking bullshit, even by hardcore survival horror standards. Also fuck timed missions in any capacity. 2 was somewhat better even if the story wasn't as polished.

Saw the remake for FF2 going on sale, should I jump into it or start with the older games?
