Depends what you mean by "worst."For discourse? Probably YouTube and streami g, both in the sense of people not actually playing games and just developing opinions from YTers/streamers and how they play games (like anything that slows down speedrunning is inherently bad, like having to backtrack in Mega Man X games), and the opposite side, where people get accused of forming their opinions this way, even if they actually played the games and formed their own opinion. For collecting? Grading, and if you take it back further, collecting communities as your image presumably implies. The communities were fine back when it was stuff like Retrogaming Roundtable, where most members were collecting games as an extension of enjoying games. But as these communities got more exposure, of course it attracted investors who were more interested in games as display and investment pieces, who were more concerned with inflating the prices of stuff than they were with buying games because they got inherent joy from owning them.

Youtubers and e-celebs sprung up overnight to tell everyone about the best HIDDEN GEMS and how retro gaming was proof of being a real old-school gamer.
