Probably one of the most overhated ports ever released, the amount of people who bitch about this thing is absurd.
Especially when they will willingly then play fanhacks that ruin the original art for no reason
>>12760102top: soulbottom: soulless
>>12760102I'd seen that this had come out but I didn't realise how bastardized it was. The original mother sprites and music are quite appealing anyway, if I was going to play an upgraded version I'd play one of the QoL hacks that reduce the random battle rate and add sprinting.
>>12760091We heard you the last time you made this thread and you're just as wrong now as you were then.
>>12760091No port is hated enough.
It's fine if you're playing on GBA with the speakers, but on headphones the sound effects are ear-bleeding
>>12760102i always thought the shading on the edited starman was really bad and distracting
>>12760091the only problem is the squished screen
>>12760114calm down auster, take your schizophrenia meds
>>12760102I think it's a shit port and I also hate fanshit
It's the only way to play the original Mother in Japanese with a proper ending, so it's worth it for that.
>>12761078>proper ending?Does the original famicom mother just cut out or something?
>>12761081After Giegue leaves, your party just turns to face the screen and the credits roll behind them.https://youtu.be/xi5ked4UP3MThe proper ending was created for the localization, then translated back into Japanese for Mother 1+2.
>>12761084is there no NES romhack for this or... ?
>>12761090Probably not.
>>12761084Doesn't this mean Mother 2 is the only one to have a proper ending in Japanese?
>>12760119Yeah, fuck Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the N64!
>>12761084It's far more likely that it was written in Japanese by the original team then translated into English for the localization than it is that it was written in English by NOA and then translated into Japanese for MOTHER 1 + 2. It wasn't uncommon for developers to keep working on games even after they went gold in anticipation of future releases.
>>12761161Maybe, though the ending doesn't factor in how you can beat the game with Teddy or without recruiting Ana
>>12761161Correct, the nintendo gigaleak reveals that NA-exclusive content always has a proper jp line prepared in some way
