I just got a gamecube game boy player and have been playing through pic related. ITT: recommend hidden gems and share what you've been playing lately.

It's good to see a fellow Donald Duck CHAD here. If you want more Disney/Donald Duck quality on the Game Boy lineup, that's usually slept on, I'd say DuckTales 1 and 2, since most people seem to care about the NES versions only, the Game Boy versions for me are even more fun thanks to being a bit more simple, also find the 1st title easier to explore and find stuff, though with the 2nd it's the opposite, being more cryptic than on NES to 100% for some reason. Anyways both are just great.

That Donald Duck fame got really hard in the later stages

Have you played Medal of Honor: Infiltrator? That’s my hidden gem rec, doesn’t get talked about much but it’s really good. Kinda similar to Guerrila Warfare or Ikari Warriors if you know those but it’s much more polished.

Found a copy of Pokémon Pinball for GBA today at a little antique store, got it for $20 which was a nice deal. Going to play on my cube w/ gameboy player as well, I rarely play on my SP anymore because it’s too small and my hands feel like shit after a few minutes.

I have seen it compared more to Metal Slug, it's a good game but also brutally hard, especially in later stages

I've been wanting to play a good run n gun actually, so that sounds perfect. I'll check it out, thanks anon.

Goin Quackers on the PS1 was the first game I ever played, so I had to try out the game boy version.

I recently tried out all versions and the PS1 version felt and controlled way worse than the one on N64, not sure if it's just emulation or something else because I haven't tried PC and Dreamcast which is supposed to be the same as N64

I'm playing through Summon Night Craftsword 1. I tried it a few times when I first got into emulation, but I never got past the first few floors.
I went with Pratty/Sugarette. Their dynamic is really fun, with Pratty innocently not quite understanding Sugarette's rampant girlthirst.
In terms of weapons, I've been using almost nothing but spears. They seem really really good in every situation, so I never feel the urge to switch.
I just finished the boss fight against the twins.

The game is quite fun; I'm enjoying both the combat and the story. But because there's just the one dungeon and it's completely linear so far, I feel like it lacks a sense of forward momentum.

What's with mspaint grid filter?

Turok Evolution is neat as a Contra wannabe.

I like the Famicom Mini release of SD Gundam Gachapon Wars. Despite what shit like Wikipedia claimed that they took out multiplayer, it's still available on it and i seem to recall that it only required one game cart for it.

That's good to know cause I have the n64 version, but just assumed it would be inferior, so I never really planned on trying it out. I want to play through it again soon, so I'll do n64 this time.

Turbo Turtle Adventure (GBA) is quite good. It's like a child of Adventures of Lolo and Super Monkey Ball - you roll a turtle (always in his shell) around a maze and do minor athletic challenges to get past obstacles and reach the goal, like in Monkey Ball, but the focus is on manipulating the tile-based environment in standard ways to solve puzzles and clear your path forward, like in Lolo. It's just an unpretentious little game that gives you nice puzzles, some with hidden optional hard solutions so you always have mysteries to look out for, and then gets out of the way.

Rescue Heroes: Billy Blazes (GBA) is a game for little kids that I guess is based on a Fisher-Price toy line (it had an associated cartoon show apparently). I played it out of curiosity because it was made by WayForward and was supposedly surprisingly good despite its status as a licensed game for little kids. It was in fact surprisingly good. It's short and easy but it feels good to play and is cute to look at. I don't especially recommend it but I certainly don't recommend against it. It might be a nice game to zip through on a long plane flight or something. I bought it for about six bucks on eBay and it ended up being worth that much.

This reminds me of Tang Tang and Planet Monsters also for gba. Simple games that remind me of stuff on the nes and original game boy.

How does Donkey Kong Land compare to DKC? DKC is probably my favorite SNES game.
