Apparently zoomers love this shit and its getting mad expensive to buy a used copy. What went so right that Virtual Boy has become such an in demand cult classic?
>>
>>12762452
nothing to actually do with the tech or the games, it's resellers and scam grading markets that want iconic/scarce items to resell
>>
Don't reply, this is the sega system poster here to continue destroying the board
You are genuinely retarded if you post below this line

How do you know? I thought he was gone but when I tried making a serious s*ga m*s*t*r sy*tem thread it got 300 replies which makes me think he lurks in the shadows.

Zoomer here. We are going to get all the Virtual Boys and take them off market, we found our thing and you can't do a thing about it.
>>

I bought mine for $5 from a rich kid who didn’t want it. Games included.

here's my story with the VB.
>buy a used VB off a local craigslist-like site
>go meet the seller to make the transaction in person
>arrive to the place, see one of those weird tiny modern cars parked
>car door opens, it's an attractive dark haired woman calling me to enter the car
>sit next to her
>she pulls out the Virtual Boy
>starts telling me how she had it as a kid and doesn't really want to let it go but she needs the money and she isn't really using it anymore, but has a sentimental attachment to it
>I test the system and the games to make sure it works
>she gets all nostalgic while hearing the sounds coming out of the VB
>working fine, so I pay her for the system and games
>tells me that she hopes one day she can buy it again from me
>we chit chat a little bit more and then I leave
She was a belly dancer and very talkative. I was a loser who had a gf at the time so I didn't make any further moves, regret it.
The good thing is that, while most other Virtual Boy units were probably used by spergy kids, I have one that was used by a hot girl. This is important because you have to place your face "on" the VB.

You had a gf, that was the correct play

>IT'S THE BOARD DESTROYAAAA!
CDs are making a comeback. They sound a bit crap compared to hi-res FLAC. People are buying them anyway. Stop assuming the worst, window licker.

Nintendo fanbase is getting more cultlike by the hour.
Every one of them needs a virtua boy to display beside their copy of earthbound (they have never played any of it). When used as props they boost credibility on reddit and bring them many updoots.
This is the only reason stuff is getting mkre expensive.

They want to fuck up their eyes so they can get on disability program, get free monies and say fuck off to uncle McDonald.

I'd assume the fact it's Nintendo with a small library that it actually appeals to autists because they may be able to reasonably get a complete collection of games. Very few people will have the means to get a complete NES library, even if you set limits like north American releases only, only a single revision and no extremely rare shit like World Championship. I knew a guy that collected vita games for the same reason, he ended up getting like 90% of the north American games just from gamesrop closeouts. I asked him why he liked the vita so much, he said he didnt like it at all. It's just collectors, man.
>>
>>12762452
In other words, you're asking us why zoomers are subhuman?
>>
>>12762938
What no pussy does to mf.
>>
>>12762945
You're not wrong. He wasn't getting any at the time and wouldn't shut the fuck up about it unless he was talking about his gay ass collection.

>She was a belly dancer and very talkative

That was the right move. You were there to get VB not VD
>>
>>12762754
Then make some homebrew for it, faggots.
>>
>>12762765
here's my VB story:
>be in toys r us in 1997 or whatever
>virtual boy is on clearance for $30
>can i get this mom
>sure it's only $30 lol why don't you get yourself a game too
>play it for a week then put it under my bed for 30 years when the batteries die
>>
>>12763021
What games?
I got mine with Teleroboxer, Golf and Mario's Tennis.
Later I got Virtual Boy Wario Land.
>>
>>12763028
just red alarm and the pack in tennis. wish i got more
>>
>>12762765
Good story, but you post it exactly the same every time.

>They sound a bit crap compared to hi-res FLAC.
They don't sound like crap. They sound slightly worse, and most albums don't have a uber hi-res digital release. Even for albums that do, it's not always for the best master.
>>
>>12762452
People want it because we've reached the point now where people have realized that it actually has some good games and that YouTubers lied about shit like "muh headaches". It's expensive because not many units were ever produced or sold so there's more demand than there is supply.

Why are zoomers supposedly behind everything? What are boomers, millennials and X'ers even doing?

No one cares about the games it's just a neat device with a novelty factor that people want to experience at least once. I thought records were the coolest thing ever when I discovered my parents collection. Old LCD handhelds and picrel too.
If you can't remember being curious about random old gadgets as a kid there's probably something wrong with you.
