I can't get past like...level 3 without tearing my hair out. How do good players beat this shit?
>>12768491Imagine paying 60 bucks for a fucking 2d shooter that plays like a genesis game during the 6th gen, Cubies really had no games
>>12768494imagine being gay and retarded like this anon
>>12768491You gotta play for 30 hours. Or so I’ve heard
I imported the dreamcast version when it first released and beat it on my first playthrough without even understanding the instructions
Shmups should just be like railshooters with an hp bar instead of instantly dying if you make a small mistake and you touch a bullet by one pixel. It will make the genre much better.
>>12768494Game is free if you download the iso anon, you don't have access to an emulator or a hacked gamecube? Also, I just play the rerelease, thing is on sale all the time for like $10.
>>12768608That's definitely a lie but it's an interesting one.
>>12768816it's easy if you don't 1cc
>>12768494Gen 6 console war is over. You can go home now.
>>12768491The GC port showers you with copious practice modes, fucking use them. Even on an emulator you rarely need save states, the stuff that's already in the game is good enough in most cases.Hell, you don't even need to look up routing videos because the game includes those in as well. Compared to other shmups at the time, Ikaruga players were living like absolute kings.
>>12768491Play more than a handful of times.
>>12768491Have really good eyesight or a big screen that somehow doesn't have any latency. Skill can't overcome not being able to see shit when the screen is cluttered with bullets.
>>12768795No it won't, I made a game kinda like this and it ended up sucking. You could tank hits through the whole game and play as carelessly as you wanted. Might be one of the easiest shmups ever. Rail shooters have health bars because it's inherently harder to judge bullet distances in 3D. Meanwhile in 2D you know exactly where every bullet is and can plan your next move accordingly. That and most games have bombs to give you more grace.
>>12768494>Imagine reselling it for three times that before the retro bubble even started >Imagine getting even more back from used copies when they were actually a bargin>Imagine most people playing it on the Wii
>>12768491Everything happens exactly the same every single time. All you have to do is memorize it. Play it for hundreds of hours, thats how you beat it.
>>12768491Bullet hells should be approached like puzzles rather than shooting games, know where to be, where to go, and what order to shoot down enemies instead of just dodging shots and spraying bullets.>>12768841>if you don't 1ccAllah forgive me for uttering this phrase but you didn't beat the game
>>12768491you just, git gudlevel 4 is the hard one (and the most kino)5 is a breeze
