Having played both versions, Rebellion's Delta Force: Black Hawk Down for PS2 is a far superior game to Novalogic's PC version. The PC version's levels are huge and empty. The squad mechanics are basically useless. The game often feels one step above a tech demo. Rebellion's is basically a remake on their own engine, and it keeps the stuff that worked, and reworks everything else.

Who gives a fuck, if you had any interest in actual PC sims back then you would have been playing operation flashpoint instead

Literally

Who gives a
Fuck

Never played Rebellion's version. The PC version is really fun though. The levels are huge and empty but there's a clear direction of where to go so I'm okay with that. I really do miss the more open ended structure of the earlier Delta Force games though.

>operation flashpoint
Boooooooooooooooring tacticool slop for gravy seals.
>Delta Force
Massacre hundreds and blow up shit with any tool of your choice.
>>

The problem with the levels being huge and empty is how much of the game is spent firing hundreds of meters at random terrorists while your AI teammates do fuck-all.

Kys, your thread is shit
>>

Flashpoint is a completely different kind of game to Delta Force.
>>
>>12768686
yeah, it's better in every fucking way
>>

And completely mogged by Crysis.

Many such cases...
Developers didn't pay much attention to PC versions because of blatant piracy and low sales expectations. Also, developing games for consoles was much easier and more straightforward.
The PS2 was selling like water, with a large user base ready to buy the next big game.

Rebellion are one of the shittiest developers in the FPS genre.

In this case it's because a PC milsim developer was replaced by a British dev who understood how to make actually fun videogames.

The studio who made the only good Alien vs Predator game (the 2010 one) is bad at FPS games?

>The studio who made the only good Alien vs Predator game (the 2010 one) is bad at FPS games?
Yes. Everything they made sucked, these are the guys who made the GBA port of Medal of Honor: Underground, quite possibly the worst FPS ever made, no hyperbole whatsoever.
>>
>>12768843
Rebellion's GBC/GBA games were by a different sub-team, same as Rareware.
>>
>>12768728
No, but neither was Operation Flashpoint.
>>
>>12768679
But allowing you to solo entire levels is what makes Delta Force different from other milsims. Letting bots do the killing for you isn't fun.

>>12768680
I'm not OP.
>>
>>12768657
Novalogic's games are all really strange to me, they're very arcadey but have the dressings of a sim/tactical shooter.

What is virtual battlespace, the military contract desktop version of OFP
>>
>>12769980
Novalogic were decent at making multiplayer shooters and flight sim and stuff, but their approach to singleplayer game design was always a bit thin and lacking.

And what the fuck is wrong with that?
>>
Yeah Rebellion had a way of improving games they made arguably the best version of Gun for their psp port, also they took Dead to Rights 2 assets and made Dead to Rights PSP, same with Battlefront 2 they made the best version with Elite Squadron

og xbox's version of MAG

I still don't know why I don't remember any mission prior to Irene. Could have sworn the game started on Irene, but every thing I see online says otherwise. Got filtered hard on Mogadishu Mile, never made it back to the Stadium.
>>
wasn't this game and the movie literal army recruiting propaganda
