Based.
FUCK GOEMON (except for the non-Nintendo games)
FUCK NINTENDO
AND MORE IMPORTANTLY:
FUCK VIDEO GAMES!! (fuck all non-Nintendo Goemon games too!!)
>>

I didn't say the N64 Konami library was better than the PS1

Just that Konami truly support the N64 with exclusive and quality games unlike almost every other japanese developper

No fuck you you can only like 1 console

Only fools willingly chose to support the N64.
It was basically middle school to me, I've played a loooot of it, but it's a shitty console with huge limitations. On top of that the Nintendo royalty and cart production fees were sadistic compared to everyone else.
N64 was what I had that gen, but honestly, good for the developers that didn't deal with Nintendo's bullshit.

You've got this completely backwards.
SotN was the spin-off. It's literally part of the Dracula X series, the X meaning spin-off like for Mega Man.

Meanwhile the N64 game was literally just 'Akumajou Dracula' or 'Castlevania'. It was the main game. The series was also Nintendo centric until that point; and the N64 game most likely had a much higher budget than SotN, (though both feel rushed and unfinished in some ways but that's a fate many games have had).

The bomberman hero ost is so weird but I love it

Meme game worst bomberman game and sound track on n64
>>
At least Konami was there.

It’s not like Square, who pressured Nintendo to let them publish on the Famicom, only to abandon them at the first sign of trouble.

And Enix, too—even if they couldn't make Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest titles for the N64, they could have made action-RPGs like Illusion of Gaia or Secret of Mana...
>>
When it comes to Japan maybe, but the N64 had quite a bit of support from Americans though. Turok, Duke Nukem, both Quake games, Forsaken, the Star Wars games

>>12770947
I liked Hero more than Second Attack.
>>

Enix did publish a number of games for N64, but yeah no Dragon Quest
>>

SotN sucks and CV64 is unironically better, KCET is barely capable to shit out a decent game. Only Suikoden 1 and Vandal Hearts were any good.

Wonder J Project 2 and Mischief Maker.

But not a 3D game like Soulblazer!!
They made Brightis on the PS1, and there was Zelda on the N64, so it was possible.

My favorite bomberman, even if the levels feel like shit you'd design on PS1 as opposed to the big open levels in Nintendo/rare games.
Soundtrack is GOAT, have the CD. Chikuma is awesome.
>>
SotN is boring as shit but I'm not gonna defend CV64. Shit is like "that part" of a game except every single fucking part is that part.
>>
>>12773348
You tried Legacy of Darkness?
>>
>>12772580
I find SotN to be a slog without focus, while CV64 is enjoyable to replay.

You should because it's genuinely fun and intriguing. It's surprisingly nice once you understand how the game works. One thing that kills a game for me is a lack of variety, and Castlevania 64/LoD has no two levels that feel the same as each other. Every single level has a different design philosophy and compels the player to think slightly differently. I can't think of a 3D action-adventure game quite as subtle as this one.

That's a nice way to put it yes and it's why I think the original is better paced than LoD, LoD does have some repetitive parts

I agree that it is remarkable how the game feels unique and different from section to section. I just also think that the different sections are almost all full of some kind of annoying bullshit for different reasons. The jumps over the poison river demonstrate how frustrating and shitty the jump controls are. The bone dragon boss to enter the castle demonstrates how shit the camera is. The godawful combination of a hedge maze, two shitty dogs you can't make fuck off, and fucking chainsawstein taking half your health every time the dogs catch you (and barring cross I suppose you're basically fucked far as I could tell, that was about when I decided to fuck off and play something else). Aeven the shit inside the castle wall where a single platforming error is yet another game over. Like seriously, every fucking section has something that pissed me off.
At the same time, I loved the whipping translation to 3D and the function of the subweapons. The giant skelly boss was fun even if camera still kind of sucked. I think I could forgive it some if they just reduced the level of punishment for making mistakes. Almost wvery error you can make in this game results in a game over and reloads take a while. It is even more shit because the feeling of control over your characters movement and jumping is so fucking bad. Like I can put up with drac's curse (and its inflated US difficulty) or bloodlines expert mode because I have absolutely solid total control over my character, I know exactly what they can and cannot do, and I know pretty much every time a death is my own fault. Too many times in 64 it feels like I only died because the controls are ass or the camera is shit, or both. And for a game with such problems, making almost every mistake into a long game over/reload/return sequence (vs other games where you die, game over, and continue in the span of maybe 20 seconds) is just goddamn annoying. Anathema I know, but this CV sorely needed more leniency.
