I have a horrible confessions to make: I do not enjoy Super Mario Bros. 3Mario feels considerably less responsive to me than in SMB1 or World. It feels like I press the jump button in those games and Mario is instantly in the air, while in 3 he is in the air about 0.5 seconds later. Same for his horizontal movement. The levels are also way too short and are usually centered around a single gimmick. While in 1 and World you can hold right along with the run button and have fun jumping over and on top of what appears before you, in 3 you have to constantly readjust yourself and stop to not get hit, kind of closer to older Sonic games. Maybe it's just a downside of the game having to be in 4:3, but I don't feel the same problem with the first SMB game, so I'm not sure. The levels just feel too short and cramped for me, while in 1 and World they have more empty space for you to simply run around in.But yeah guess I'll just kill myself.
>I'll just kill myself.do it faggot
>>12771786Zoomer status revoked
ascended taste is acknowledging that Mario controls best in DK94
>>12771786Best 2D mario
>>12771786I was born in 1984 and also like it less than World. I find the sprites in the original NES SMB3 ugly.
>>12771786This game has the worst controls of any game I have ever played, and it's levels are the size of my kitchen.

>>12772023yeah I though it might just be a personal impression I was getting. Maybe I feel that way because the more cramped levels of SMB3 require me to jump and go back left more often, while I'm simply running on the ground straight to the right most of the time in SMB1. Thanks for proving me wrong regardless.
>>12772028mario 3 mario looks a little floatier on his jump and I believe he has a higher minimum jump which might be a factor in why he feels less responsive but horizontally I think mario 3 mario is more responsive but he has a tendency to get caught in a slide.
>>1277178620 years ago I would have said SMB3 was the best of the classic series, but for me it's now>SMW > 1 > 3 > 2 US > 2 JPThe levels are simply too short.
>>12772023based empiricistanon!
>>12772023There is a slight delay in actually getting off the ground in SMB3 compared to SMB1. You can check it by watching the video frame by frame. You also stay in the air longer in 3 than in 1, among other physics changes (both vertical and horizontal). The jump difference isn't huge but is apparently within the range of human perception.
>>12771786OP again.I have confessions: I are from bharat.
>>12771786I like it more than Mario World but less than SMB1.
I have another confession to make... I don't stop for niggers at crosswalks
>>12771786>Mario feels considerably less responsive to me than in SMB1 or World. Is there a difference between the original version and the All-Stars version?I grew up playing both around the same time but ended up liking 3 more. I just thought the level gimmicks were more interesting and I also liked some of the powerups more. It felt like there was more variety in what the levels actually did in each world in 3.
>>12772156Or is is the case the sprite work isn't the same?
