27 years later... is Resident Evil Code Veronica a good game?
>>

>Girl invites me over to hang out.
>Asks if I can play RE:CV on her PS2 because she can't really play but wants to watch.
>I oblige. After a bit, say I need a break from the grind.
>She sucks me off as a thank you.
>Every week, once per week, I'd show up, play RE:CV or another game, get thanked with a blowie, and leave.

So, for me, it's a good game.

Always had been.

>The Ashford family's genetic project to resurrect the intelligence and beauty of their ancestral matriarch, Veronica Ashford
LMAO, what a plot
>>
Played through it recently. Its not bad and not the best. Its a mid RE game compared to 1-2-3. It looks great for a DC game and I liked the fixed camera angles

27 years of people saying "no" and yet to this day some desperately try to get us to say "yes"
>>
It's not good and it's not bad. It's a thoroughly average game. A 5/10 just sticks out more when it came after a trilogy where the weakest entry was an 8/10 at worst.

- There are no female zombies.

- The only infinite weapon you get in the main game as a reward after beating the main game is the rocket launcher and you only get it if you get the S rank.

- No "gallery mode" to see the game arts or "music mode" to listen to the game music.

Code veronica is mediocre.

Flycast has weird widescreen

Dolphin has good widescreen

Anyone know why that is?

I finally finished it last year after never finishing it on my Dreamcast. Code Veronica was a dramatic tone shift for the series that made me stop caring of Resident Evil.
1, 2, and 3 is Japan trying to make a grounded western horror story.
CV is when they start sprinkling Japanese ditziness on it with shitty characters and even more retarded locations.
I had some hopes at the start, but Alfred, Steve, an Antarctic base (and not even alternative costumes for the Antarctic base) was too much.
4 was even worse. I just stopped caring.

I remember as a youngling being really stressed out in the beginning especially at the start where you have to do the metal detector bit and still haven't found an item box. I was even one of those people who fucked themselves into a way harder boss fight with the tyrant on the plane by wasting all my good ammo earlier.

Nowadays it's all a cakewalk really. And for the most part yeah I like CV and still consider it good. The FPS parts with the rifle are shit though. Total shit.
