I hate this game on principle for being called FF XI, it should have been titled FF Online (and XIV should have been Online 2). It permanently ruined the franchise's numbering. Yes I may have autism.

Too late now.I remember reading that the races or factions could fight for territory over the map somehow, but I'm guessing that didn't make it in the game or was watered-down. It's a pretty gay system that really just guarantees the most populous city always gets 1st place.

Running the campaign with trusts is pretty much just that and about the closest you're going to get to how real group play felt short of some massive advancement in AI where you can literally have a fake group (which would be dystopian and autistic but is probably teh future of MMOs desu).I don't think the people wanting a single player remake are interested in the PUG experience of retro MMOs, or even the mechanics and timegating of MMOs. They just want a movie game.
