Thoughts on the 3D Classics series?
I think they made too few of them, but at least my dear Twin Bee got a release
>>
they released like 3 good games like that.
they were good and fun to play in 3d but worthless if you don't have a way to do 3d.

IMO Twin Bee is good mainly because of the adjustable turbo speed, and also the 3DS circle pad is really great for shmups

I had Kirby’s Adventure, Sonic 1 and Gunstar Heroes, it was my first exposure to all of them. Kirby’s Adventure is good, didn’t have the slowdown of the original. Sonic 1 is good, it included the spin dash, I forget if there is a way to toggle it off. Gunstar Heroes, was great, played fantastic, I haven’t played the original so I’m not sure how it compares. I don’t think I ever turned 3D mode on to play any of them.

I loved Outrun and Galaxy Force 2 on this. The 3D looks amazing, and I wish they went through with the Virtua Racing port.

I really hate that they didn't include all the NES/SNES games they showed at E3 2010 in the 3D Classics line. I guess all you faggots didn't buy Kid Icarus, Xevious, or Excitebike. So fuck all of you. At least we got pic related from Sega with the gorgeous Ken Sugimori box arts. One of the most expensive games in my collection nowadays. Glad I imported the triple pack back in the day.

They killed it off too early and their choices of games were odd. They gave us Urban Champion. Who gave a shit about Urban Champion? They should have chosen Zelda but then they'd have to answer to why they gave away Z1 and Z2 free only to sell a 3D version. They'd have to explain why it gets both versions on eshop but Excitebike and Kirby don't. They could have also boldly done SNES games (3D Pilotwings) but then they'd be competing directly with Pilotwings Resort. The whole thing just feels like a project someone at Nintendo was passionate about but then they were shut out of all the games they should have converted and sales suffered due to picking titles few would buy in this format. Or it was only ever a gimmick to Nintendo.

Now Sega on the other hand, they understood the task at hand and fucking rose to the occasion. Those projects are unbelievable and it kills me that 3D didn't catch on enough to keep the releases going. My only wish now was that at some point Sega realizes VR exists again and uses them to either port the 3DS ones (now in 3D but also with full arcade cabinet renders, CRT filters, etc) but moreover to port their lightgun games. I'd take Ghost Squad and other more modern ones for that matter, those games were not done full justice by the wii ports. Not to mention other later games that didn't get home releases like Let's Go Jungle or Deadstorm Pirates.

You missed out if you never used 3D in Gunstar. It's mindblowing how good of a job they did.

I haven't seen Twin Bee, but I'm not a fan of how they've fucked with some of the graphics in Kirby's Adventure
For example here they've added those gradients in the sky and in the door, which doesn't fit with the rest of the art style in my opinion

>my dear Twin Bee
you will never be a woman
