Assuming we're amongst hardcore gamers who've never really stopped playing games, the only way I can imagine someone not being better at action games now comared to when he was a kid is if the person is a savestater who's been using savestates for the last 30 years instead of learning to play the games.For puzzle/thinking games it's a different story, if your job isn't mentally demanding (vs school, which was) it's easy to imagine being worse at those.

Absolutely but I think it's less actual dexterity and more intelligence/experience and patience.I no longer ever get nervous, as a kid I always was on the edge of shitting myself during final bosses or really difficult parts were stakes were high, especially old games that had no save or password.
