1972 until Glaxian (1979): Atari is the best ,video game exist thank to 70's Atari

Memorable game: Pong, Breakout,Asteroids

Galaxian until Super Mario Bros (1985):Namco is the king of the arcade golden age no contest ,the most successfull and influential games are from them

Memorable games:Pac man,Xevious,Tower of druaga

Super Mario Bros until Final fight(1989):Nintendo golden age , Nintendo has never dominated like that again

Memorable games :Zelda,Punch out,Super Mario bros 3

Final fight until Final fantasy 7(1997):Capcom create and refine the modern beat em up,fighting games and survival horror genre

Memorable game:Final fight,Street fighter 2,Resident evil

Final fantasy 7 until Shenmue (1999): Squaresoft make J-RPG popular around world and single handedly kill the Saturn and N64, imo the greatest peak of any developer

Memorable games:Final fantasy 7,FF tactics, Xenogears

Shenmue until the merge with Sammy(2004): Sega peak of coolness and creativity

Memorable games : Shenmue,Virtua fighter 4,F Zero GX

I don't see any clear best developer from 2004 until 2007
