The problem with retro games is you have to play them by yourself with no one to share the experience with because online play didn't exist in their era.

I'm 40, do you think I have a circle of friends who will just turn up at my house to go a few rounds in Mario Tennis?
>>
Couch co-op exists you retard
>>

I'm 35 and I play retro games online with my friends
>>
>>12776648
didn't say this game didn't have any missable content, maybe try talking to all the npcs on your next playthrough
>>
Retard boomers on here don't get what OP is getting at.
It goes beyond just playing, it's sharing the fact you're playing a video game with the world and how to capitalize on it.
Boomers don't get it but in today's world, if something can't be used as content, then you're wasting time.

That's a problem with mentalities getting warped over time from the internet, not retro games.
If you can sit alone in a room for 24 hours, apparently this is a superhuman task for modern human physiology.

>itt: snoys who never played goldeneye

What I'm BITCHING about is that as, an adult who has a small circle of friends, if I want to actually get into something intense with other people I have to play newer shit because online matchmaking means I can be served an endless supply of opponents.

>problem

Not really. I'm in several discords for different games, there's active scenes for everything from Crash Team Racing to TMNT IV to DBZ Super Butoden 2
>>
>>12776648
I don't often have groups of friends coming over like when we were kids, but when I do, and we hang out it the game room and play melee or mario kart or whatever other party game, it's magical.
>>
Is this logic why zoomers don't read books?
>>
>>12776714
Books are great items to pose with or to have as background decoration.
Also, influencers releasing books is lowkey a thing, we defo buy books
>>
>>12776642
You're right in the sense that some older games nowadays can't be fully enjoyed like they could when they weren't retro and we were children. One game I can think of like that is Gauntlet Dark Legacy, a game I greatly enjoyed in my childhood with friends that is pretty much impossible to enjoy in the same now as a middle aged man. Other posters are being disingenuous.

>lists three reasons zoomers buy books
>none of the reasons are "to read"

I have a group that comes over once a month. It’s mostly to play Ultimate since smash is how we met, but that game is garbage so we share whatever cool games we find between meetups.

100 percent, I lived in the countryside and there weren't kids to around to play titles with.
>4th gen platformers only lasted 10 hours max and my folks wouldn't buy them
I cleared most of the classics within three days of a blockbuster rental. The longest title was Yoshi's island.

>5th gen collectathons last me at least three months if I only played weekends
>Luckily I got my gameboy advance early and transfered everything from Blue to gold with ease.

>Got heavy into JRPGS when I was 12-13, and they would last me through and allowance cycle.
tis true, my younger brother was eight years younger than me. He didn't get the jist of things till I was in graduating highschool, however I convinced him to play some classics instead of COD with his friends. He thanked me, egregiously.

Speak for yourself. When I was a kid I played multiplayer with my sister or my friends. As a young adult I played with my wife. As an older adult I play with my kids. I hate online gaming so even for modern games I don't do it.

Commie scum.

>>12776662
you could record the gameplay with a vcr. or today stream it like any other game
>>
>>12776648
Im 30, I have that for ribbit king and halo. Mario kart should be an easy sell
