As opposed to the 2D V-Rally game

The Daytona situation on Saturn is such a pity. The original has to be one of the worst ports in the history of video games given the hardware, but the controls are the only good thing about it. The CCE version is a graphical marvel and it's what the original should've looked like (and it would've not made the Saturn look like a laughingstock early on) but the controls are amongst the worst I've ever had the displeasure to experience in a racing game. Fucking Sega man, they're their worst enemies.

it was very difficult to my childself, finicky controls like driving a soapbar and unforgiving races.
Gran turismo 1 and 2 were a joy to play in comparison.

Im trying to run RBR with my logitech but I cant downshift

Finishing Stunt Racer 64, I have to earn more cash to buy the Apollo 2 (has the best stats out of all the cars available at the garage) so right now I'm getting extra money by winning the first leagues.
The AI in this game is really hard, if you fuck up once you're probably not seeing your opponents again.

Finished the game after unlocking that car, overall its really fun and probably one of the best looking racing games on the N64.

Definitely check out the dreamcast version if you haven't, it looks damn good. Although I really like sega rally championship 2, I think v rally 2 is the better game. Except the levels where the track is really dark those are a pain and the nighttime levels can be really hard too. That video you posted earlier also got me to try the hood view, it's really immersive!

The thing about Daytona USA though is that it's possible they rushed it for the US Saturn surprise launch, yes I know the JP version was released a month earlier but that doesn't necesarilly contradict that

PS1 V-Rally (1) is one of my quilty pleasures. The handling is absolutely terrible, especially with the WRC cars, but the game has such a vibes that I love it.
