No puzzle in SH1 or 2 took me more than a few minutes to figure out (besides the coin puzzle of 2 on the Extra difficulty). SH3 however stumped me and stopped my progress dead after I chose Hard difficulty and got to the Shakespeare puzzle.

The back of the pieces have a certain number of raised elements and you have to make the connection between the count of bumps and what the pictures represent that also has that same number. It's the kind of thing you'd see in a newsagent children's puzzle book of the era. Hell, that's probably where most of the puzzles in survival horror were lifted from.
