In honor of Tim Curry, lets talk about the era of FMV games where actors starred in PC games.
>>12782149wtf do you mean by that>check /tv/fuck this year bro
>>12782149I remember as a kid some discount store called Oddjob that had stacks of the big box of this. Wish i had gotten one. Also can't forget he replayed his role in the pc game adaption of Muppets Treasure Island. The Day the World Broke is a kinda obscure one i have fondness for. Mostly rendered robot characters, but has a few live action humans.

>>12782149This was also packed with the Malcolm McDowell Mummy game, both were cheesy but fun. Mummy was a much easier game to beat, Frankenstein was hard
>>12782149>>12782153FUUUUUUUUCK
>>12782338today sucks
>>12782149Before The anon who jerks-off "Harvester" every time this thread topic comes up, I have to say that I think "Ripper" is the better overall experience; All the weirdness in the former is just edgy try-hard shock value that was written to be so, whereas with the latter you have Christopher Walken chewing the absolute fuck out of the scenery while reading mostly (in universe at least) normal dialogue.
>>12784827Bloodnet, Hell A Cyberpunk Thriller and Ripper are kinoI think Harvester is kino too, but maybe a lesser kino.
>>12782149>nearly gets videogames banned by Congress
>>12784827>This guy... is un-FUCKING-believable
>>12782206Frankenstein was hard as hell, and you could straight up sequence break and need to start over.
>>12784827I think that Harvester is a funny spectacle of schlock, and I like it in that way, but I wouldn't call it a good game, it has neither good gameplay nor good writing.
>>12782149Ahahahahaaaa this is a fucking awesome game. I miss this era. We had this and one with a haunted mansion?
>>12784827I have never played any FMV games but Harvester does seem like a nice entry-level one.
>>12787608Sherlock Holmes is the easiest one since the cases are all super easy and the main challenge is to redo them and try to match Holmes' absolute minimum amount of investigation.
Obligatory Wing Commander mention
>>12785094I was always curious about this game but since I never owned a Sega CD I never got to try it. It got a remastered version on consoles that's like 15 bucks. Do anons who played it think it would be worth a shot just for the lulz if I understand the limitations of FMV games and expect it to be kind of terrible?
