>select most comically evil choice at every turn>hair starts perma-forming into yarmulke
I do like how Kotor 2 kinda hammers in that you can't really go full sith without being a retarded murderhobo (like 99% of sith are). You can try for nuanced evil, but that's not how it's going to work out because using the dark side is like being a meth addict.
>>12784528wrong, Kreia frequently proves herself to be a self-contradictory retard>demands you take Handmaiden aboard despite your protests>the next conversation she berates you for taking on too many alliesAnd don't give me any nonsense that she's a sith manipulating you to have these conversations. The self-insert writer was just a homo
>>12784540Kreia is probably one of the worst written characters in vidya game existence which is no surprise considering she's just Avellone's sock puppet to berate and disparage the Star Wars universe and the player
>>12784540Kreia is explicitly written to be a hypocrite, thats part of her character, thats not bad writing.
>use dark side to make Zaalbar murder Mission Vao>it gives light side points
>>12785391The concept of a hypocritical manipulative companion who despises the Force because it is itself manipulative is an interesting and engaging concept.Kreia is that but written poorly, thus serving to be annoying instead of philosophically fulfilling if you move past the surface level of her conversations. It's like Avellone just wanted to drop sick lines in a vacuum but couldn't pull together a coherent system of belief
>>12785461Which of the following is more likely: the game needed to ship in time for Christmas so they cut lots of content, including but not limited to entire character arcs and their poignant deaths? OR - hurr, bad writing!
Also, that whole -“I suffered…indignities” cinematic. Were the implication that they raped her?
>>12785493>which of the following is more likely>what I daydream we would have gotten>hurr, reality!I'm not arguing that they weren't rushed, but you can make a coherent story that's maybe not as fleshed out, or you can make Kreia. But that's not why I made the thread. I just want KOTOR memes.
>>12784482I actually surprisingly enjoyed KotOR 1 somewhat, maybe because I had low expectations. I liked Mission accepting that her brother is a piece of shit and actually growing a little, I liked Canderous in general, and I liked Bastila's backstory with her parents. The rest of the companions kinda sucked though and I played as a Guardian so I didn't even fully experience HK's dialogue due to lack of skill points. I also like that there was at least some subtlety with how Bastila is clearly interested in the dark side and is fighting that temptation. Makes the dark side ending even better than the cuck goyslave light side ending. For KotOR 2 though, I do enjoy the light side a lot more. It's sort of like the end of Anna Karenina, it just naturally feels good to be a good person and we instinctively know what the right thing to do is, so why not get a passport for the mom who needs to escape the planet with her kids, it just feels nice. Plus it's fun being the chad altruistic do-gooder while Kreia seethes and cries about how you have to be a social darwinist or whatever.
>>12785608Light Side and its equivalent is generally writtern better in most games simply because most players don't want to be an asshole, so more thought is put into that path. There's a reason Kreia is most proud of you in the ending if you're full light, because you can only really do it by not being completely bound to dogma and saying thought-terminating cliches like "it's the right thing to do", you often justify WHY you want to do good things. That's all Kreia wanted, fucking think for yourself, it doesn't matter to her if you're a goody two-shoes in doing so.
Bastila is literally the same as the love interest from Neverwinter Nights.
>>12785505yeah, Darth Sion plowed her while Darth Nihilus watched
>>12786875Nihilus doesn't have eyes to watch with
>>12785319The Star Wars universe deserves all disparagement
>>12785416>when the universe itself is conspiring against you
>>12785319>>12785391At least you could make Ulysses realize how much of an absolute twat he was acting.
>>12787807True but I think Avellone never should've have said it was a mistake to never be able to prove Kreia wrong. Because the whole point of her character is she's a stubborn old woman too stuck in her ways to ever have her mind changed, a lot of people who are old and had a shitty life are like that, nothing you say will convince them you're right. Her character is ultimately an evil stepmother from a fairy tale, made the narrative's mentor character.
the only good star wars games are ones that take place during the original trilogy and you're just a nameless pilot with no personal character development
