If "You didn't beat the game" makes you angry or stings you in any way, it's because you know you are a cheater who did not, in fact, beat the game, simple as.It's meant as a joke, yet you will reply and try to justify your cheating in some way.
>>12784579Good for you, or sorry that happened.
>>12784579it's overused, anon
>>12784579>wearing sunglassesyou didn't beat the game
>>12784579But it is retarded when people say it, yet it goes against the very devs who made the game with no in-game proof that you played the "wrong way".(outside of obvious shit like glitches and cheats)I will respect the creators intent, but i give no shits about what "the fans" consider a win state.
>>12784579lol look at this fag who didn't beat it lmao
At this point, the only people left who say "you didn't beat the game" are in fact the mindbroken cheaters themselves.Notice how they say the line for the most ridiculous things nobody would ever have said it for. It's like this: they were so mindbroken by people reminding them that they are cheaters, which they don't want to accept, that they're trying to paint a picture like the people genuinely saying "You didn't beat the game" are like schizos by impersonating them and saying that line coupled with things they never would have said it for like "if you used more than 1 life than" or "if you used jump attacks in Zelda 2" etc They also think that by falsely claiming things like 'You didn't beat the game unless you never got hit' it somehow cancels or excuses their savestates use. What they don't realize it that anyone with more than one brain cell realizes isn't falling for their shtick, so instead of successfully making the "You did not beat the game" people look like schizos, they're only making themselves look even worse than they already did.Not so long ago there was even that poster claiming that anyone saying "You did not beat the game" was in fact given by that opinion by an e-celeb, again a poor attempt at discredit since that e-celeb made a video about the subject precisely because he knew this was already a topic that would generate clicks&comments, not the other way around.
Cheap bait thread made by a homosexual with the worst opinions on everything ever and he doesn't even play games and he's brown
I just played Risk II and it cheated so I rolled 1s on every attack so I decided beat the game.
>>12784579>You didn't beat the gameis a stupid expression. Every video gamer ever is a rather simple repetitive loop. People do not have to beat the entire game to be able to come to objective conclusions about a piece of software. For example, rollslop gameplay is really bad. Turn based: avoidance while waiting for the window to attack - shit gameplay. It does not change depending on the rollslop version or progression in the game itself. The issue are non-gamers.
>>12784579except that 'beating the game' was about personal satisfaction that you achieved a difficult task. it wasn't for internet fame (that didnt' exist back then anyway). nobody in the real world cares that you beat super mario bros 3 without using the fucking whistles. not one person gives a shit. not even other gamers. if you cheat, i don't give a shit. play the fucking game. it's like playing with your ass with extra steps. are you going to get a trophy for it? absolutely not.
>>12784579I make my own rules.
>>12785263>except that 'beating the game' was about personal satisfaction that you achieved a difficult task. it wasn't for internet fame (that didnt' exist back then anyway). nobody in the real world cares that you beat super mario bros 3 without using the fucking whistles. not one person gives a shit.Nintendo Power had an entire section called "achievers" consisting of people sending in their best scores and just proving that they beat a game. I picked the first issue listing SMB3 just for you. They also had a section introducing various players who would list their best achievements, usually being "I beat this and that game"

>>12784579>simple asCan someone explain why children are using this phrase constantly all the sudden? Is it a reference to something specific gen alpha or whatever that I've just never heard of? It seems like it popped up here a few years back and is now the go-to bait hook kids use constantly.
>>12785537https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/norf-fc-simple-asStarted with these memes then spread to more general usage, as far as I can tell.
>>12785537We used to to use it on /sp/ to mock brits>luv me mum>luv me bangers n mash>ate liverpoolsimple asWe were doing that over 10 years ago
>>12784596Because less people are beating games these days.
>>12785537>luv me spoonfeeding
>>12785537>Thing I don't know must be new kids' stuffThe meme is over a decade old, and another board's culture.
>>12785542>/sp/That tracks. Every time I see it used I find it impossible to take anything else said seriously.
>>12784579You wish you looked that cool as a kid OP.
>>12784596/threadIt stopped being funny about a year after it was spammed ad nauseum, and it's been almost 5 years since then. No one is mad because they're cheating-- they're mad because the "joke" isn't funny.
>>12785097It's not that complicated. When it's used in a non ironic format it's referring to savestates. Your examples are all meme formats that take it further as a joke.
>>12786783>jokeIt's not a joke.
>>12786980Oh yes it is
To me, "you didn't beat the game" should mean that they used an emulator or played at a much higher resolution and framerate than the original. It's legitimately a different experience. You and someone who played the same game under the above conditions could have totally different opinions about the game's difficulty or controls, so you can't even relate to each other despite playing the same game.
>>12789772A joke is something meant to be funny to others. Repeating a phrase ad nauseum because you think it's comical in how annoying it is isn't a joke, it's just being autistic.
>>12789983It's funny to those who are watching you having a melty.
