Is it even any good? Or is this some meme shit?
>>
>>12788645
It's basically good. Japan likes it a lot and they complain that it can't ever be rereleased because of the subject matter.

Thanks, anon.
>>
>>12788648
I think they could get away with re releasing it only in japan, but i can kinda see the very likely scenario where non jap news sources get ahold of the information and make click baity articles on it in English regions.

Alternatively the concept of the game could work really well for a modern reboot adventure game based around time travel.
>>
I think the patch has some issues.

To be fair, this is exactly the kind of games that haven't been translated by the translation community for a reason and never would have been, and this despite being a Nintendo made game, so I think it's nice that AI can be used to fill that.

AI should do Square's Tom Sawyer too
>>
>>12788683
>>12788702
I wasn't really complaining, just pointing out it's a bit rough. The readme suggested it wasn't playtested all the way through.
>>
Seethe all you want about YouTubers, they're the reason these literalwho games are getting translated

>The readme suggested it wasn't playtested all the way through.
why is it marked as complete
>>
>>12788769
Because "good enough" (but it's actually dogshit) is the standard for completion when it comes to AIsloppers.
>>
>>12788702
I've been working with someone on translating Square no Tom Sawyer, though I'm not sure when they'll finish inserting text.
>>
>>12788769
Clicks. Odds are 50-50 the next release will be "2.0" when it still isn't 1.0 material to inflate the version number.
>>
>>12788742
Actually nvm. It's pretty fucked, they didn't even proofread it
>to wear something, you choose to 'CUT' it
>character names vary between lines, one character was named Chino and was referred to in the look menu as Blood
>some twists are ruined by this, with an early character being named Kuga and a later character being named Cooger, and you're supposed to realize they're the same person
>>
>>12788792
But on the other hand, it's still playable. I'm halfway through the game now I think.

Or maybe not.

How do you upload something you haven't even playtested? You have not give a fuck at all at that point why even bother
>>
>>12788841
Fan translators hardly playtest anything. They just beg other people to do it
>>
>>12788841
Clout.
>>
>>12788841
Because they told the machine
>Make no mistakes
And when it was finished, their precious AI probably told them it was 100% tested and perfect (and that they are a genius). This is the mentality of slopheads. The only people I've seen doing good work with AI are veteran programmers who actually have the skill of reading code (which is much, much harder than writing code).
>>
>>12788841
Not going to name names here, but in private correspondence, I once encountered someone even before this AI-boom who openly did NOT playtest their hack, much less show signs they ever once booted up a Japanese ROM - it was all secondhand material from videos they regurrigated and dressed up as a finished hack, and in the end didn't give a shit to address the problems pretending the trash was complete all because their audience of EOP secondaries couldn't tell the diference and that was good enough for them. For some people, the idea's integrity doesn't matter. Now the AI-boom starts to make sense - some of these type of people have no restraint and see these games as...I don't know, a vanity project, resumé piece, a donation incentive, or something skeezy.
>>
>>12788861
Even if it wasn't ai translated most of these people don't playtest anything. Nothing would change. Even old fan translations that are broken to this day were never fixed. Fan translators from AG to DD to all the other small groups don't fully playtest. And nobody is asking for professional level qa. Just a simple start to end playthough where the game fucking works and doesn't have weird issues that weren't present on Japanese roms or real hardware but they can't do that much.

All fan translation is inherently lazy when it comes to polish
>>
Can't play anymore. It asks me to switch to disk 2 side A and it glitches the fuck out when I do. A pity.
>>
apparently someone else is working on an ai translation that's going to be more polished than this one. so those who want to play an ai slop translation may be better off waiting
>>
>>12788881
>going to be more polished than this one
I'd certainly hope so. Is somebody going to play the fucking thing?
This >>12788879 was right as I was entering the final part of the game. My elapsed playtime, including trying to figure out a way to switch disks and continue the game, comes out to exactly 01:28:54. It's not long at all, I was playing completely blind. They couldn't spare 2 hours to just play through it?
>>
>>12788916
>They couldn't spare 2 hours to just play through it?
That's asking a lot and you know it. That's valuable time that could be spent scrolling Xitter and Tiktok.
>>
>>12788702
The only reason this and the other Nintendo adventure games haven't been translated is because they're on the Disk System and hacking FDS games is a pain in ass.

This game has a human translation, by the way. It just isn't in the form of a ROM hack. It's a lua script that prints text on screen. If you want to play this game, that's an orders of magnitude better way to do so than this this vibe coded garbage.

>aislop patch isn't playtested in any way
>wdym luddite, this is normal, let me gaslight you that all fan translations are just as bad as this so that you shut up
I guess "playtesting" is the new target to attack after ai patches were caught "localizing/censoring" okama/newhalf related lines even harder than a diligent EGS sensivity reader
>>
>>12789051
>Slime MoriMori GBA
DQ has weird punny sound names and character tics in nipponese so it's the worst fit for an ai patch, not unlike a nintendo game filled with content ai loves to censor
>>
>>12789494
>Seething this hard at the truth
SMT2 is still bug filled and glitchy to this day, Shiren had to get a patch made by a completely different person because Gideon couldn't be assed to fix it. Even beyond that you have humanslop like Spirit detectives still getting updated because they didn't playtest enough to the point where the game would literally lock up at certain parts. Don't get mad at the truth. Just accept that 99 percent of fan translations will always be sloppy compared to professional QA work
