Is this the most subversive character in western games? How did this pass americam filters?
>>12795728I mean, did you watch the fifa world cup 2026? If your country didn't have one, it meant problems
>>12795728considering he was mvp for japan this wc, probably cheered
>>12795731>>12795734I meant to the kamikaze squirrel in OP, the pic related is just to depict an average Japanese person
>>12795760It seems Japanese were first able to play this game in recent times, with the digital release of the game in modern consoles. It seems in Japan they did change the title to "The High Flying Squirrel" though I haven't been able to find any screenshot confirming it
>>12795862>"The High Flying Squirrel"I mean, the Japanese did "get high" before a kamikaze attack...
>>12795719>even named after one of the aircraft that attacked Pearl HarborHoly kek
How did Goroh get a pass?
>>12795951He didnt
>>12795728Oh I looked it up and it's actually interesting. The JP version of the modern rerelease was handled by a separate Japanese publisher who took the time to removed the rising sun insignia from the plane and Zero's bandana sprites. I don't know about the actual language support in the game itself but the Switch version does advertise Japanese language support and Famitsu has a Jp version of the logo with the Kamikaze>Fly High title replacement on top of the american box art, and it's so well done I have to wonder if it wasn't official art shelved by Sunsoft Japan back in 1994.I would love to try the extracted JP SNES ROM from the collection.(Also none of the Aero / Zero games had JP localizations and nips online consider them "hidden gems". They were all planned for GBA ports with new content and far into dev but only Aero 1 released on GBA, with lots of improvements and the series' only JP version (under a completely different name)
>>12797995And this is the cover art. It's the same publisher (the WW and JP duo) who did the Shockman series and these had english localization support modded into the originally jp only games, so this might be the same but with new jp versions. No idea how they handled the other Aero games though.Tectoy's Brazil MD version is unchanged but translates the cover title to something that still has kamikaze.
>>12797995It's a shame it had an European release, would have been fun for it hitting the US market only
>>12798000>to something that still has kamikaze.>BRs call squirrels esquiloKek
>>12795951By defeating the Mega Man boss known as Gutsman.
>>12798001It did skip Japan when it first released (or the just gave up)It would not hinder the release unless the political topic was too timely (the Contra thing filling news topics then and then your kid gets a game for america where those gangs are "the good guys" is perfect moral panic fuel) or trying to sell a game about the past of germany in germany while you ask them to overlook things that aren't too legal thereIt's a different time, South Korea police would arrest local publishers for selling uncensored strategy games mentioning them
>>12798009That and burgers aren't in any place to say things were any better for them considering pic related was enough for them to reject the release even when the devs recolored it to green and obscured the hat pattern
>>12798007(you) get a chuckle out of me
Checked the latest romset, and only the uncensored world versions of the modern rereleases are there
>>12798001>hitting the USheh
Japs make a game where the joke is "Pearl Harbour" and it's all fun and games but if you make a game where you nuke Hiroshima you're a "sick bastard" and "evil for making light of such a tragedy".
>>12799828Pearl Harbor was an attack on a military base.Hiroshima was beyond a military operation, it was an unholy illuminati freemasonic jewish black magic fucked up "let's make a solar explosion happen on Earth" retardness. Oh and it was on civilians.
>>12799882Fuck around and find out weeb, but the biggest tragedy was we only had two bombs to drop not 70
>>12799887Ok burger, go die for your middle east overlords now. I'm sure the plan was worth it
>>12795719This game has the best soundtrack on the SNES. I listen to it so many times every single year, like drugs for the ears.
>>12799882maybe if japan surrendered beforehand like they should have it wouldn't have needed to happen
>>12799887>>12800040Brainwashed Americans. The bombings were war crimes, and that's how they're taught to kids in the rest of the world. Must be shocking to you, I know.
>>12800092japan had all the time in the world to surrender but they didn't because they'd rather let their citizens get massacred by the enemy than accept dishonorabru defeat
>>12800040Maybe if you didn't spend so much taxes and human goy lives on Israel the world scenario would be much better
>>12800115Nothing can excuse a solar explosion on our planet, Israel dog
>>12798001>>12798134nice
>>12795719That shit was fifty years ago, nobody cared.Loudness was a band from Japan that used the rising sun flag on their albums and outfits and stuff. They toured America in the 80s and people just thought they were cool
>>12800492Based.Probably they wouldn't be allowed in gay 2026
>>12800040The feud between zioamerica and imperial japan was between two murderous colonial empires for sure, but the part about "never surrendering" is laughable.WW2 has one of the most infamous cases of "localization" by american translators where they translated a "no comment" to "trifling statements not worthy of response or consideration" used as justification for those very nukes. And the current clown-in-chief is giving unfiltered daily examples of the same intellectual honesty. It takes a particularly deranged luciferian mindset to insist the mass murder is the absolute priority so much you ruin your water supply with the pollution from the ghetto and destabilise your own regime.
I feel by the late 90s, Japanese nationalism was starting to be cool, I definitely remember seeing lots of imperial flags in western media. That stopped in the 2000s and furthermore in the 2010s.
>>12801102That was when China and South Korea became bigger markets for media, and they would sooner tolerate a swatsika than that particular flag. And it wasn't an oppressed fanbase suffering from oppressive government censorship either, the population was enthusiastically on board with banning that shit on sight and could see japan's impact on their countries in real life in a way no entertainment could whitewash. As for why japan would insist on selling to countries who just 20 years ago used to ban anything with japanese language, clothes or company names that's a question best asked to ntr land where everything is ok for the right price.
>>12795719don't think I ever beat level 2. there is an unknown amount of levels past level 2 in my mind
>>12801082no you fucking retard. mokusatsu was interpreted correctly. the stupid fucking emperor would rather kill all its peoples rather than suffer defeat. that's always been one of the biggest faults of asian cultures. they can never admit defeat unless their face is shoved in it repeatedly.
>>12795731Have one what?
>>12797995>I would love to try the extracted SFC ROM from the collection.FTFY
>>12801082>zioamericaWhat's that even mean?
Nationalists in Japan drive around with the Rising Sun flag on their vehicles and shit. It's not treated like a swastika is in Europe.
>>12795719ancient amerimutt herei cannot recall there ever being a stigma attached to kamikaze pilotsthey were always thought of as a strange curiosity or even admired for their bravery
>>12802789This. I can understand a game like that Famicom shmup where you are a Japanese Zero pilot shooting down American planes not getting localized on a console meant for children here in the US at the time but something like a cartoon squirrel wearing a Rising Sun and called Kamikaze fighting other cartoon characters wouldn't have been and wasn't considered objectionable.
>>12802796>that Famicom shmup where you are a Japanese Zero pilot shooting down American planesI'm guessing you're talking about Sky Destroyer
>>12802828Well yeah, what other shmup is like that? I couldn't remember the name when I made the post.
>>12802829Not exactly a shmup, but apparently this is a small series
>>12802849Do you kill gaijin in it?
