>you missed out when this game was fresh so now you have to be cursed by this ostentatious green color in your disc libraryWhy did it have to be this way?
stop making retarded threads
Live with it, repro it, or pay the paypig price on ebay, retard.
>>12799230But it’s the exact same game, right?
>>12799230A game being labeled greatest hits was instructing me to buy it
>>12799240Not always. Sometimes later runs patched over things.Metroid Prime infamously went "no fun allowed" for its Player's Choice rerelease by patching out movement exploits and sequence breaks.
>>12799251Npc
If you've played the greatest hits you didn't beat the game.
That green is really fucking ugly.
had this growing up, i dont know what the fuck they were thinking that consumers needed to have a tiny cropped section of box art
>>12799490i also remember being very fucking confused that there was a random giant knuckles in the level due to how the back of the platinum box cropped it
>>12799230Crash 2 green label is better because they added analog support
>>12799303>>12799490Second prints like greatest hits or platinum hits or players choice are meant to have ugly covers, like books, to make the original edition more desirable for collecting, whereas the reprint gives you a lower price but less desirable for collecting. You know, just like books and comics.
>>12799528There's no difference between the black label and GH version of crash 2
>>12799230>four different variants (excluding regional exclusives)>two different black label variants>neither black label is the original first print run, but one of them came out after the Platinum releaseCollecting specific variants of retro games just seems like a nightmare that's simply not worth the effort
>>12799230Nigemogged
>you missed out when this game was fresh so now you you can buy the budget rerelease for only $10zoomers will never know this feeling
>>12799230>why did you have to be this gayYour threads suck shidder
>>12799674Worst thing about platinum games was that you lost the disc art. Every one of them just looked like this, no matter what.I'm pretty sure the greatest hits versions kept the original discs, but I might be wrong.
>>12799823They did. The media itself looked like any PS1 game disc, just the case went with the gaudy green to remind you of your failings.
>>12799827PS1 GH disks had black and white art, which I never liked.
>>12799230it was half price, worth it.
>>12799843less than half price, in most cases
>>12799240nope, Greatest Hits releases often times patched / added thingsone example being Spyro 3, how the original release of the game was missing a few music tracks and had to re-use previous tracks for later levels. The greatest hits re-release added new tracks for those levels.
>>12799490>Sonic 3>holding up 4 fingersLiterally unplayable
>>12799257>Metroid Prime infamously went "no fun allowed" for its Player's Choice rerelease by patching out movement exploits and sequence breaks.God, I hated that shit. I had the Player's Choice as a kid and was so confused why those tricks I saw on Metroid2002 weren't working.
>>12799230yeah the green is ugly as hellnow the ps2 red greatest hits I can get down with
>>12799230Same reason Arizona labels their teas 99 cents or why Metallica released an ep called the $5.98 EP. Everyone knew greatest hits were $20 or less so if you walked into a store back in the 90s and they were charging more you'd know you were getting ripped off. If they looked the same stores could have easily bought more at the new price and kept charging whatever they were selling them for before the price drop.
the green is soulful
>>12800153t.
>>12800159accurate
>>12799492What is up with that phone number on the back?
SOTN greatest hits had new content in japan
>>12800159tfw low on weed after tonight
>missed out>ass banditpoopNah
Eidos Greatest Hits were the worst, because they added a stupid demo select screen at the start of every game just so you'd always know you got the TJ Maxx version.
>>12800245demos are cool tho
Personally I enjoy still being able to pay reasonable prices for PS games, so I don't mind that collector hate the green.
>>12799529Players' choice look good though, even with that ribbon thing, the golden aspect is nice to the eye. Probably it's a psychological thing but the gold color makes things look good. The green on PS1 greatest hits is jarring. It would be better if it was a different shade of green, but that one looks like green screen eyeraping stuff
>>12799230Not so different from missing out on the shadowless pokemon cards.
>>12799257you're a speedrun tranny. no sane person ever knew that shit.
Only spergs care about this kinda of thing
>>12801287it's based thoughbeit
>>12799823But you play with the disc in the console, not seeing a image or a cover or printed disc. This stuff only bothers you if you are mentally imparied or maniac about some minor stuff.vidoegames are mean to be played not to be deposited in some shelf form 45 years.
