What is the current state of PS2 Homebrew & Hacking?
I've seen a bunch of launchers and shit, but I have no idea which one to use (I have a Slim SCPH 90001 with opentuna & retrolauncher that I haven't used in years, was thinking of playing something on it).
I also saw that snesticle is finally getting updated.

Video Game Emulation/Development has increased by large magnitudes since claude released.

I could see PS2 eventually getting some actual fast emulation with A.I coders

>since claude released
This, it's also the reason why Recomps are coming out at an increasingly fast rate.
>>

i have seen ports of plants vs zombies, touhou 6, undertale and j2me emulator, no idea if ai is involved in them but its good that ps2 Homebrew is evolving besides half-assed OPL builds.
>>

PS2 emulation has also evolved significantly, so it helps immensely with homebrew.

In most cases A.I is used now. However some that have been in the works forever might release here and will be a.i free. People are still going to assume/suspect they are A.I though so might as well at this point lol

People are making their own games for this generation of consoles including Dreamcast

The current status? A renaissance.
>>
>>12801337
People shouldn't have to worry so much about it now because it's at a point where anybody can fix longstanding issues if they really wanted to.

A new PS1 emulator is in the works for PS2: https://github.com/Gageformer/Ember

Haven't tested it myself but from the sounds of it it's already better than POPStarter for most games.

I guess this could be good for later models, but I'd rather stick to older ones that run PSX games natively.
>>
>>12801359
Thats neat, I'm gonna try it with Pac-Man World.

>older ones that run PSX games natively
They don't. Every single PS2 model, even the ones that include the PS1 CPU, still emulate the PS1 GPU with middling accuracy.

Moreover, this allows you to play games off a USB.
>>
>>12801359
Can you load the games from PS2 HDD?

SAY WHAT!? I never knew that! Can't wait to see how far this new PSX emulator will progress. I imagine it'll reach WiiSX levels.

WiiStation is what people are using on Wii nowadays
>>
>>12801378
I'm very happy that I own a Wii of my own, because I'm extremely tempted to try all this extra stuff out. I've only went as far as playing GCN games in Wii mode with a DS4 connected. It's extremely cool inserting whatever HID-compliant controller I want into one of the USB slots.
