Hello /vr,this anon bought an SNES and wants to buy a flash cartridge, that isn't too expensive, but supports saves and all the good games. Long load times are not a problem. Which ones have anons tried out and can recommend?Btw. retrobrighting and modifying to NTSC are planned for this PAL 1chip beauty.
I bought one of the cheapest aliexpress clones. Flashing takes forever but if you don't switch games too often it's fine. Obviously it doesn't support special chips and it might trip copy protection on some games.
>>12799769Retrobrighting damages the plastic. Just keep it that way. It's wabi-sabi.
>retrobrightingYou sure want that thing to break don't you?

>>12799769I wouldn't really cheap out on snes flashcarts due to so many games using special audio and graphics chips and shit.
>>12799769>retrobrightDude, don't. Leave the shell like it is.Also:>69Nice.
>>12799769>retrobrightingenjoy having the plastic disintegrate.as one anon said. the yellowing is sign of age and that the console was well used.retrobrighting it's like getting a plastic surgery. it may look a little younger, but it's still rotting inside.1chip snes are great. i have one that i found. cleaned and modded with internal psu because fuck using third party psu's that are crap and us 1chip has plenty of space inside.

>>12799769Depends if you want to play games with special chips. If so get FXpak Pro. Aliexpress has cheaper FXpaks that I can hardly tell the different from the official version but if you're wanting to play games that don't have chips in them, you'd be fine with Everdrive X5. It's worth it over the Aliexpress generic flash carts because the load times on those are like an hour in comparison and Everdrive X5 is just immediate.

>>12802109From what I've read and seen it's because they're using older firmware with no way to update it/cutting costs with some chips or something on the board. But yeah, they can get pretty slow when loading games.
>>12799769If you don't care about SuperFX stuff and Street Fighter Alpha 2/Star Ocean, just get one of the Super DSP carts from AliExpress. They cover the DSP chip games like Mario Kart, as well as the entire rest of the library. If you do care about the aforementioned games, you'll need to get one of the FXPak clones instead. Just avoid the REALLY cheap carts as they're trash.>>12801459The Super DSP carts are clones of the Super Everdrive X6, so outright better than the X5. Only the real cheap carts that don't support any special chips have annoying load times.
