One of the most popular CAVE games is Mushihimesama and there is a variation known as Blue Label even though officially it's called Mushihimesama Cave Matsuri Ver. 1.5. There was an official arcade PCB released around 2006 or 2007 and there are known owners currently but they do not want to dump the ROM for whatever reason. There was a PC port that includes this Ver. 1.5 and and the PS2 arrange mode as well. Is it possible to extract a ROM file from a PC port? I am curious if there are examples where a PC game port is released and the ROM is extracted to play on emulators and specifically I am wondering about arcade game ROMs.I doubt anyone here actually knows the answer but I'll try here anyway.
There's a xbox 360 version I'm downloading because I don't care to play the game on SteamYou just use band hero bad update and unshackle then run it through the aurora dashboard, you just have to figure out how to make it a GAME ID game in the folder, I forgot how to do that part
Aren't arcade emulators super stingy and won't even emulate games if they aren't in their database?Like, they can't even emulate a game if the filename doesn't match what they're expecting.Would an arcade emulator be able to emulate a rom that was never dumped before, and therefore is not in their database?
>>12801140>are examples where a PC game port is released and the ROM is extracted to play on emulatorsYes, this happens all the time. Not just for PC versions either.
ok so if you have a unshackled xbox 360 like mineyou just use ISO2god on the file and the output is a x360 game with the correct structure to run from a hardrive connected to your x360, you just need to get the aurora app on first obviously
>>12801156>>12801174This is a good idea but I was asking about extracting the ROM only because it's much easier to play the game on MAME or Retroarch than to use original hardware. I guess you could emulate the xbox360 but then you can't really do that on a low powered PC and it's probably even harder to do on a phone. If you had the Blue Label ROM you could run it on any phone even low powered.>>12801163That's a good point, and I honestly don't know. I've always thought that the reason this is the case is because every arcade PCB is different and many different chips need to be dumped and the emulator needs a lot of information, like much more than other emulators. This is why the ROM files are always a zip archive with multiple files. However from my understanding, this Blue Label is CAVE SH3 hardware or CV1000 so I can't imagine it would be difficult to run this since it's probably the same as the original Mushihimesama. My elementary understanding is that this is more like a romhack and so you could just rename the files to match the original mushihimesama. If I remember correctly, when saidaioujou was dumped, MAME devs made it impossible to run but if you renamed some files it worked>>12801169Can you give some examples please?
bump
>>12801169Yeah that's what I fucking thought. You can't name a single example. I knew it.
