About to go through the series but I'm curious, for Armored Core 2, should I go for the modded iso's with the true analog controls or stick with the original release? Also, dub or undub?

>should I go for the modded iso's with the true analog controls
Yes, there's this anon on /emugen/ who breezed through the entire series and he can't recommend the analog control mods enough.

Gotcha, I'll go ahead and grab those then start, thank ya. You know if the dub is serviceable?
>>
>>12802207
>You know if the dub is serviceable?
That's the part I DON'T know, I also have yet to get into the series. I'd go with the undub as a safe option.
>>
>>12802212
Probably a good idea. I know the dubs eventually get decent, but early ps2 games like this one can be hit or miss. Whelp, hopefully this series manages to be a good time.

>the modded iso's with the true analog controls
You didn't beat the game
But it doesn't matter, the only good AC games are Last Raven, [not retro] and [not retro], which do have stick controls and coincidentally were worked on by Dark Souls man.
>>
Am I the only person in existence who likes the classic controls? The game iand HUD is designed around them, it makes you feel like you're piloting a robot.

It works perfectly for controlling movement, camera and shooting/movement without having to claw or anything. The only downside is in 3rd gen/silent line you had a lot more left handed guns, so pressing square and circle at the same time was kinda annoying unless you changed it or just stuck to a sword in the left hand
>>
>>12802281
>it makes you feel like you're piloting a robot
because it's le complex?
"realistically", piloting a humanoid mecha especially as depicted in anime or AC cutscenes would require some kind of mind machine connection
the "classic" controls are a bad abstraction, dual stick controls are a better abstraction
>>
>>12802281
I love them. Once you get the hang of it your level of control is fucking amazing.
>>
>>12802306
You sound like a gay
>>
>>12802186
Armored Core is one of the extremely few console series that let you rebind every control function to any button. I don't understand the mental block people have with the controls when every single AC game lets you rebind attack and auxiliary functions to the triggers and aiming to the face buttons. It's a complete non-issue.
>>
>>12802296
>>12802312
Yeah it's so fluid when you get used to it. No need for auto-locking like with dual analog.

>>12802306
It's not complex. Tank controls just make it feel more like a vehicle/robot.
>>
>>12802331
they let you bind the buttons you have by clicking in the sticks but not the sticks themselves
it's fucking stupid
>>
>>12802341
>Tank controls
AC doesn't have tank controls, that means you can't move sideways
>>
>>12802361
left/right turns you, it's tank controls
>>
>>12802371
tank controls means you can't move sideways, like tanks can't
>>
>>12802373
>In a game with tank controls, pressing up on the game controller moves the character in the direction they face, down reverses them, and left and right rotates them.[1]
Now fuck off non verbal autist back to your cave
