DELAYED FOR A YEAR! Diamond hands on the preorders? Getting out of Dodge? Actually getting released after asic bug fixes etc. or more Coleco Chameleon/Intellivision Amico tier vaporware? What the FUCK is going on?!?https://www.engadget.com/2253921/the-neo-geo-console-remake-has-been-delayed-to-september-16-2027/
Yeah a lot of stuff will be either delayed or much more expensive, the Hormuz thing has shut down a lot of supply chains, not just oil. Also the rich oil Arab who owns Neo Geo now, probably isn't as rich as he was a year ago.Just emulate, it works fine. Neo-Geo was the first target for MAME, IIRC, it's not like it's not emulated well by now.
>>12807194Sage like wisdom but my guess is OP wants to consume
>>12807197Imagine the tendiegazms when Nintendo finally re-releases their classic consoles, with of course, modern features like a STORE lol.
>>12807194>Just emulate, it works fine. Neo-Geo was the first target for MAME,And before that NeoRageX. Was fucking incredible running NRX on a low spec PC at the turn of the millennium having all the Neo games for nothing, accuracy be damned (mame was too slow given our PCs then, NRX being written in ASM was a big difference on slow Pentiums).
Gay. Didn't care about the system necessarily, but was interested in the potential for new NG titles for original hardware.
>>12807213That's been done, they cost like $400. Which adjusted for inflation is cheaper than the originals lol.
All that inflation from NPCs hoarding AES carts to use on this...maybe they will glut the market now and push prices down.
>>12807218>hoardinghehe you missed your chance, prices will never go downeven in 100 years after all the plastic has rotted (as you often say) everything will be worth crazy mad moneyyou missed your chance lol
>>12807221I paid $5 for a complete Sega CD Snatcher at a flea market so nyah nyah.
>No worries, just another year and it will be testing blood...um playing Neo Geo games with 100 percent ultra compatibility! So get your pre orders in NOW or lose F O R E V E R !
>>12807194TDS. we're winning the war.
>>12807259Oy vey
>>12807259Sheckle for the good goy
>>12807259war? what war?BTW your preorder will double in price by next year. Keep winning sis!
>>12807160I'll admit, the setup would look awesome but you would have to decorate the rest of your house in relation to that cute little bookshelf, otherwise it would look tacky and people would make fun of you.
>>12807224Game looks fuckin sweet, I'm jealous
>muh trumpwho cares>>>/pol/
Have they shown off a functioning prototype unit yet? I understand delays, due to production issues, economic issues, bug issues, what have you, but a nearly year long delay of a "sounds too good to be true" type of product is a bit worrying. I just hope, for the sake of those interested in this, that the end result won't be something like scaling back on the planned fidelity in favor of cost cutting/manufacturing ease due to supply chain issues or whatever.
>>12807206Played it on a K6-2 back in the day. No problems.
saudis are no longer acting like they have infinite money and are reeling pet projects back substantially.the head of the PIF called it quits on the golf league he was personally overseeing, billions down the drain.
>>12807160Keeping the preorder, not like I'm going to use the money for anything else.>>12807213It was nice to get new memory cards and joysticks too. And yet there were able to get a c64 and atari on a chip but they didn't need premium pricing and year long preorders.
>>12807160Furrtek stated the delay was due to memory shortages, not RAM, were a reason for the delay and that Plaion is basically stuck on a waitlist to get their stuff.
>>12807378Nope. We have absolutely nothing to show that this entire thing isn't just a marketing strategy for something dumb.
>>12807517NeoRageX could do 60fps on stuff as low spec at Pentium 133 and the like. My PII 450 back then definitely would choke on mame for much beyond early 80s arcade games. NRX really was all that back then.
>>12807194Have children really become this retarded?>>12807197>Sage like wisdomSee above
>>12807378They're showing it at Tokyo game show.
>>12808643
>>12808638Seething oil arab detected lol. Sardine shortage is from a shortage of tins, a good chunk of the tins came from Qatar where they have the world's largest aluminum plant. It was damaged by Iran and is offline.Nobody in the media is talking about supply chain issues caused by the SMO against Iran, but they will compound.
>>12808934Imagine being such a poorfag you're seething over cheap canned food on a gook toon board
>>12809832Sardines are the food of kings. Every good shut-in knows the pleasure of savoring a fine can of King Oscar's best. Sam Bankman-Fried now trades in the currency of 'Macks", the universal prison unit of exchange that replaced cigs: mackerel packs. You will have to trade Neo Geo carts on par for each sardine can/mack pack after the AI apocalypse if you are lucky.
>>12807160fuck off, retard.>>12807378>Have they shown off a functioning prototype unit yet?no>>12808643lmao
>>12809920>fuck off, retard.Eat your 'dines as per >>12809920 and maybe your single brain cell will have company.
>>12807160I haven't received any email from Plaion about delays. My Order page have no notice and "We're preparing these items for shipping" still appears. Will it be a "first come, first served" situation?Ultimate ed.
>>12807284Don't be. The dude didn't have a functional Sega CD so he never got to play it
>>12810662Is Google blocked on your phone or something, you drooling retard?https://www.techpowerup.com/352516/neogeo-aes-delayed-to-september-2027-amid-manufacturing-expansion
>>12810697I am not reading this.
>>12807259
>>12810727You're exactly the kind of retarded subhuman I'd expect to have pre-ordered this thing, so thank you for reinforcing my belief that I'm always right.
>Initial announcement is Promise the moon, Promise the sun>Some AI tier descriptions and extremely unrealistic claims such as 100% authentic joystick to the original>Tell everyone if its too good to be true it's not true>Get denounced as troll or whatever>Radio silence for months>Tell everyone no company hides good news>You are now hereWhat can I say, other than TOLD YOU SO!
>>12807160LMAOso happy I did not buy this Saudi-tainted mess
>>12807160Furrtech already confirmed that it has nothing to do with the asics. He said there was a supply issue with a parts vendor. It sucks but a year will go by fast if you're not constantly thinking about the Neo Geo.
>>12807160 s o y boy cuck gadget.
You can't be a BIG TYMER without a real NEO GEO AES console, with big carts full of ROMS rattling around and a shelf of BIG $ TYME carts.
>>12810845I won't read that either.
>>12807160>loaning a company your money for over a year interest freeAnyone who doesn't get a refund immediately is a cuck.
>>12810965>It sucks but a year will go by fast if you're not constantly thinking about the Neo GeoOr you'll find out you have ass cancer and die during that time. There will inevitably be people who were looking forward to this who won't make it another year. Especially when you consider the audience.
>>12807160preorder piggies always get slaughtered, this is just another L on the long list of Ls. How do you guys keep falling for it?
>>12811537Damn that’s fucking grim. You’re probably not wrong tho. I reserved one of the 1k ultimate bundles. If it’s one to one w the og stuff I really just want it mainly for the last blade games. This delay probably delays a second batch batch of games which sucks because I was hoping for at least one of those to get a re release.
>>12811718I preordered through Amazon so you don’t actually pay unless it gets shipped.
>>12810858>Tell everyone no company hides good newsNow here's some actual sage wisdom for the faggot kiddies on this board! Absolute TRUKE
>>12810686Oh. That sucks then. Why would he buy it if he didn't have the hardware to play it? I mean I guess I would purchase the physical copy too, if it was a good deal.(I also don't have a segaCD) Well I'm gonna go download it to my 3ds through a QR code and play right now curled up behind my sleeping big tiddy wife. WHO'S THE JEALOUS ONE NOW!?!?
>>12809920Yes, yes (you) are.
>>12807160Why are people exicted for this AI slop console?
Given how close this was announced to the release date, what's crazy is what this suggests about the status of these things ever being ready on the original timeline. That scale of production takes time to wind up all the tooling and logistics etc. so by this point there should be a fucking warehouse full of those things or the announcement should have been ages ago. It was just unannounced crowdfunding all along with your money going toward an unfinished product ready at an indefinite point in the future.
>>12812346You'd have to be smoking crack cocaine to even think they managed to restart the production of the Seimitsu LS-22 within that timespan.
Dang that sucks
>>12807160Can this company even keep its doors open until next year?Like they don't sell anything but this neogeo remake on their website. As far as I'm aware, their only product is something that doesn't exist. They have no streams of income coming through other than preorders on a product that does not exist. Can they maintain their leases on worksites, storage costs, staff salary, and benefits to their full staff of employees with zero revenue streams for two years?
>>12812598Apparently it's linked tohttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaion
8bitdo stopped making their neogeo cd controller because of this piece of shit
>>12807878Son of a bitch this is being developed by a furfag?
>>12807160Probably because AI taught them to do the hardware emulation in a better and more cost-efficient way, so they decided to scrap everything and start over
Ok, cool. I might just 3D print once and shove a modded Wii into it and call it day. The hard part will be all the sanding and making good labels.
>>12812659>furfagAlways a bad sign. That degeneracy drive the Devil into Nick Rox of Gamefan and destroyed his life leaving him facing the rest of his life in the federal pen. Furrfags and gaming, a recipe for disaster.
Can you just buy the stick?
>>12813141No because the stick was made by AI.
>>12812346I mean I guess if you preordered through them but I’d imagine most people preordered through Amazon and you won’t get charged there until the day the items ships out. And whenever I go to look at preorders it usually says something like 10k+ of a game has already been preordered so honestly, they may have a shit load of preorders just from Amazon where they don’t get paid upfront and saw that they had way more demand then supply. Or it could be all a scam but again unless u preorder directly from them, they aren’t getting the money from Amazon just the number of how many want the items. Seems like they just vastly underestimated demand along w possibly partially telling the truth w shipments being fucked ip because the world is currently unstable af. It isn’t a good look tho, but hey… I got my preorders on Amazon so if it comes out, I’ll know before hand whether or not cancel and I haven’t paid a dime on the Amazon preorders. I did preorder an ultimate bundle but worse case scenario I have a good relationship w my credit card company and I can claim it as a false charge if they ever did end up not shipping. I feel pretty protected and still excited for the project. Well see
At this point either emulate like everyone already said, or bite the bullet and buy a real AES. Delayed because of a shortage of RAM? Yeah in one years' time we will definitely not being see this available. It's another scam.Damnit!
>>12813325You are never seeing that money again and you will never receive a system.Wake up, it's a 16-bit console. Not 24 with weird math, it's 16-bit--and they can't figure it out because they're gooning 17 hours a day in a fur suit.I am at peace that it's a scam. Sorry you got ripped off, anon.
>>12807878>Furrtek stated the delay was due to memory shortages, not RAMRAM is memory. That means they're lying, or incompetent. A hacked Wii has a total of 88mb of RAM and it runs AES games perfectly. Confirmed scam.
AND, if it's "memory" that is the holdup, then it's because they're using software emulation, leaving the sole redeeming features would be the controllers and shells. So yeah, fuck it, may as well take that 400 bucks+ tip and make your own.
>>12813361Seriously: the Neo Geo system has 64k system RAM, 84k VRAM, and 2k for audio. That minuscule amount of ram is basically nothing by modern standards and if this was a one to one accurate asic implementation it should have no more that that. Everything in a NEO crammed into a die or several equals really sparse shit by post-1990 VLSI standards, it's nothing by transistor count...don't even know what fabs make stuff this simple but they might not even be a part of the whole AI driven shortage cycle at all, as data centers are buying insane chips with trillions of transistors and cores out the ass. So if that excuse is accurate, something is rotten in Denmark.
>>12813369>if this was a one to one accurate asic implementation it should have no more that thatI mean, it's not like it was ever a secret that it's not just going to be a 1:1 recreation of an original system. It has HDMI out for a start, so there's obviously circuitry for that inside, as well as whatever else they're doing.
>>12813369>>12813361I don't really know how memory is produced but I don't think size is the issue.
