Pretty much. All I have been able to do so far is select one of four different areas to just walk around in and swing one of three weapons. Some of the areas have an enemy I can attack, but other than getting knocked down after a few hits he gets back up, you can't permanently defeat him, and he doesn't fight back.

Just about everything I have been able top play in the ROM has been shown in videos in the past, the part I think will be more interesting is when people dissect the ROM, there is sure to be some unused stuff in there that has never been publicly seen.

Shit like this makes me wish Nintendo pushed for the SNES to continue to receive support after the N64's launch like the NES did when the SNES released. We could have gotten a bunch of SNES games that looked this cool.
NES got support from Nintendo and 3rd party devs from the August 1991 release of the SNES to August 1994, not counting Nintendo plopping out Wario's Woods in December. After Kirby Super Star released just before the N64 in Sept 1996, it got games up until about Nov 1997, with the latest Maddenslop ecking out a Dec 2 release, and Majesco releasing Frogger for some odd reason nearly a year later. The quality of games they got in the end of life phase also is drastically different.
NES got Lolo 3, Rockin' Kats, Pirates, Robin Hood, Snow Bros, Vice Project Doom, Batman: Return of the Joker, Shatterhand, Tiny Toon Adventures, Kick Master, Mega Man 4-6, Bucky O'Hare, M.C. Kids, Super Spy Hunter, TMNT 3, Dragon Warrior 3-4, Darkwing Duck, Adventure Island 3, Gargoyle's Quest 2, Fire N' Ice, Kirby's Adventure, Duck Tales 2, StarTropics 2, and the two Tatio Flintstones games.
SNES got DKC3, Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, Lost Vikings 2, Harvest Moon, Kirby's Dream Land 3, and some poor arcade fighter ports plus some early arcade game collections that are also poorly emulated. And some forgettable stuff by Titus.
Unfortunately, it's a direct result of Nintendo's strategy. With the launch of the SNES, they told devs the NES wasn't dead yet and would still be produced and supported, so devs took advantage of that to do a swan song game or two for the console. They knew the NES was still going strong and loved, so they were in no hurry to get devs moved over to the SNES. With the launch of the N64, Nintendo was desperate to get devs to move over fast, and killed support for the SNES as soon as they could. The PS1 had come along and was sucking away 3rd party devs left and right.
Oh well.

I think the only people who would know enough about the real PD to make a proper full version would be former Rare employees themselves. Maybe some indie dev might want to make an isometric action game inspired by this style, but I don't know, I get the feeling that most people who've been really interested in this are just prototype autists who are more intrigued by the mystique and rarity than the potential gameplay itself.

Something I accidentally found was that the second controller can also press B to produce a weapon swing sound effect, press Select to change scenes, and press Start to pause.

It's a good graphical demo for sure, getting stomped on by one of the giant's legs was pretty impressive.
For the scope of the project it's pretty obvious this wouldn't fit on a SNES cart though. This one ROM with four detailed scenes was already 2MB large (though I haven't checked the contents).

>>12807480
Bits of pieces from the project planning for Dream, and composed music made their way into future Rare games.
The human protagonist was re-imagined as a bear, that would eventually become Banjo.
The antagonist Captain Blackeye had a background artwork cameo in Banjo Kazooie, a minor appearance in Tooie where he complains about a bear that stole his glory and "a dream he had once", and on a wanter poster in Nuts & Bolts.

Just ran it through the code/data logger in Mesen, did all four scenes, ran around as player and the enemy where one existed, attacked the enemy, attacked the player, etc. Had to attack in a few different locations since the player has different angled sprites depending on which way he's facing. It managed to touch about half of the ROM, 98% of that was graphical data. Based on what I've seen, I think most of the data in the ROM is animation graphics. The rest is unused engine code or unused graphical data, so there's plenty to discover for the hardcore hackers.

Wars 64 by Hudson Soft was nearly finished and GB Wars 2 released with connectivity support with it. A shame it never leaked in the gigaleak but Nintendo might release it if they ever start digging deeper in the vault.

A Mother 64 demo up to chapter 1 end exists, it's very unfinished supposedly.
Conker is in a similar situation

FE64 is unlikely, some huge fuckery happened behind the scenes. Intelligent Systems were working on an isometric real time 3D srpg before Shozo Kaga, alongside illustrators and other employees walked out and were funded by Famitsu/Sony to do their own FE on PS1 and he talked about "Emblem Saga" as if it was in the same continuity as FE but went as far as use screenshots of Nintendo's FE version (the final version never used that). So it's not unlikely he did some sabotage on his way out of Intelligent Systems and that there's barely any progress done to recover from that before switching to GBA (which has some lost content in the form of 5 V-Jump exclusive maps uploaded to the sram like dlc content).

Everything hints it would have been a Sakurai-directed worthy successor to Super Stars, the sheer content in Wii and then how they were still reusing content from it all the way into Star Allies was impressive.

My personal pick is Tilt 'n Tumble 2 for GameCube. Bewildered they never ported the motion gimmick to Wii.

>>
>>12807497
That is if there was any Mother 64 rom ever in existence, it could have not even left the design phase with the "footage" just being mockup animations. Feels like it would have been in the Gigaleak. There was a SatAM "game" like this until the devs years later came out and said that it the short clip was just an animation and wasn't in any way a software program or running on any game hardware.

And no, there are plenty of others, such as Kid Kirby, and IIRC there was a ton of stuff on GameCube that never came out.
>>
>>12807538
>It managed to touch about half of the ROM, 98% of that was graphical data. Based on what I've seen, I think most of the data in the ROM is animation graphics. The rest is unused engine code or unused graphical data, so there's plenty to discover for the hardcore hackers.

It's also very likely the rest of it is just unrelated data from another game. These prototypes were generally on development carts that were essentially one-game flashcarts, and they would understandably get reused many times since it would be laughably wasteful and expensive to make a new one for every new build you needed to test. They generally just overwrote whatever ROM was currently on the dev cart with the one they wanted to test. They rarely if ever erased what was previously on the cart first, so if the ROM they wrote to it only took up 1MB of data for example and the dev cart was 2MB, the second 1MB could be completely unrelated data from whatever previous game was being tested on the cart.

Yeah, pretty much expected this, like mentioned above. Would have been cool of it was related to Project Dream or even scraps from another unreleased game, or a proto of one, but sadly this is common to see with leaked protos like this.

Sadly won't matter, I have seen many people complain if a single line of code is written by AI, or if AI was even used to analyze something. A lot of these anti-AI luddites have zero nuance, and likely don't even understand that there is a difference between this and generative AI, or a difference between AI assistance or the AI just writing everything for you, and just openly hate anything that so much as has "AI" muttered in it's general vicinity. A few utter morons even complained about games calling the CPU controlling a character "AI". I'm not just talking about on 4chan either, but everywhere.

He literally said:
>"boycott Switch Game Key Cards and buy Nintendo Switch 2 titles that still come with the full game on the cartridge."

So no, he's not defending Nintendo either. He's against any company pulling anti-consumer "You will own nothing" tactics.

So like Dinosaur Planet? I hate hoardfags so much, issue is that the Dinosaur Planet situation would only further enforce their beliefs that they are sitting on an "investment" since the guy who sold the ROM needed the cash. Not only are they keeping this out of people and researcher's hands just so they can feel like they have something others do not, but most of them have no idea how to take care of them and have no idea that they can degrade over years, there was a recovered proto of Metroid on the FDS that had degraded over years of just sitting in storage from a hoarder.

The most important of this leak is that we get Dream graphics, sounds, and music. We've seen images of the basic "gameplay" of this prototype for years and years, it's just walking along a path with one enemy.

If you keep in mind that this game was initially moved to N64 before eventually morphing into Banjo-Kazooie, then it shouldn't be that surprising that there isn't much cohesive gameplay or engine details to scrape.

Another historic win for /vr/. OP is the leaker, it was uploaded to Internet Archive and the link was posted here first. It spread to X and then started getting covered by gaming news outlets shortly after. I expect you'll start seeing the usual retro gaming YouTube channels that cover this sort of thing posting videos on it in the coming days.

Just got done playing it, frankly impressive that this is SNES software. That said, the gameplay they had at this point is fucking trash. Wonder how exactly they intended to make it into an engaging rpg

Why was this deleted? It's correct.
