Why is playing with guides generally frowned upon here? I'm actually enjoying playing with a guide a lot right now, I can plan forward accordingly and it's pretty rewarding, in contrast I would be pretty disappointed if I spent my limited resources on L-Gaim only for them to be wasted later on or missed on some mech because I didn't move to a specific square.
I remember enjoying a lot playing through FE6 with a guide too.

What are some games that are actually pretty fun to play with a guide? Mostly srpgs I guess?

It’s acceptable for some games but not most

There are games that can't be 100% without a guide. Would rather play through a game once and do everything instead of have to play through it multiple times. Nobody has time for that.

Generally games like that are open world and you’re not supposed to 100% them in one run. Legend of Mana, R Saga 1, etc

Managing your resources and not being wasteful is fun, the game randomly deciding you just wasted resources is the opposite of fun

It’s like playing morrowind with fanmade quest addons. You’re not supposed to do all of them, it’s there to add more content to more corners of the world, and you see whatever you end up seeing by the time you finish

Again, nobody has time to play through a 40+ hour game multiple times. One playthrough with a guide is infinitely better.

okay now apply this to arcade fighters where there are sometimes mechanics even the manuals for the homeports don't cover

Fighting games sound acceptable

I don't understand people who cook using recipes. It's turning fun into work.

i don't. download all the guides. esp before Gamefaqs gets killed by Fandom trannielords.

some of the e-celebs shilled on >>>/ck/ are like that. IMO there's too many zoomers who just hate reading. or they too lazy to even search a youtube walkthrough vid.

Games aren't meant to be played with guides, they are supposed to be consulted if you get stuck. Once you beat a game you have permission to use a guide, if you wish, during the replay in order to discover the things that are difficult or impossible by playing the game. For example, in many JTRPGs, there are hidden objects on the playfield that you can only get by doing certain things, maybe even with specific characters. But you never need to find that stuff to genuinely beat the games.

TLDR you didn't beat the game.

Nobody cares what you think though?

What are you, a woman? Why the fuck do you care what the incel autist brown community thinks of how you play games? It's not like they'll know if you use a guide or if they would even care if you dropped dead tomorrow. Live your life for you, anon. And go fuck yourself and your gay thread.

They do, and I'm correct. Completing a game isn't a chore you have to do, and they weren't made to be played like they were. Nobody cares if you 100% complete a game or not, and the only reason developers put in extra stuff is to help you enjoy the experience more on a replay.

From who? You?
>>
>>12807705
The board. The OP's complaint is that cheating by using a guide is frowned upon here, how did you miss this?
>>
>>12807705
i am nintendo's uncle. you can now play with guides. and hack all the pokemon roms.
