What is the strangest place you bought a retro game?
>>12807865When I was a kid there was a liquor store slash deli near me that lent out games kind of like a book exchange. I'd cut school and go there, get two egg rolls and a turkey sandwich and grab whatever game was available. Good times.
>>12807865there was an add in the paper "buying, selling, trading NES games" so I called and got some guy. and he told me what he had and I told him what I had and we decided on a trade plus I bought one too. we met in the Shaws supermarket parking lot (his idea) I was like 10 and he was like 50. I dont even remember what games we traded. I do remember he kept trying to push Mad Max on me. oh and he drove a green station wagon. Last time I called that number his wife answered and said "Gordon's not buying and selling nintendo anymore."
>>12807865>>12807903 so yeah strangest place was Shaws parking lot
Friend gave me Tetris on gameboy for touching a turd in a toilet.Other kid traded me mario land 2 for my orange juice carton.I've gotten pc games in dollar stores.I found one of those Nintendo made pong consoles from the 70s in a thrift shop out in Amish country.
>>12807903>Last time I called that number his wife answered and said "Gordon's not buying and selling nintendo anymore."LOL
>>12807865I got a ps2 off craiglist, dude selling it had basically converted his garage into a storefront, briefly thought I was going to be murdered when he invited me inside. Instead he had a fucking huge collection of games he let me browse and pick from to buy along with the ps2. Gave me a free bottled water too.
>>12807998>Tetris on gameboy for touching a turd in a toiletlol offtopic but this brought back a memory. remember battle beasts? all the neighborhood kids were nuts for those things and we all had a bunch. there was this kid billy from several streets away who was poor as fuck. we use to tease him because his yard looked like the junkyard. he didnt have any battle beasts. so we told him we'd give him one if he let my german shepherd King hump him. he did. and then we were like, no you have pull down your pants and underwear and let him hump you. he fucking did it. so I make like I'm going to hand him my Lemur battle beast and then I chuck it like three houses down into some old guy's backyard and tell him to go and get it.
>>12808094I hope someone strangles you while you sleep and you wake up just long enough to realize what's happening before you die. Silver spoon piece of shit.
>>12808106ok billy
lol at “Gordon isn’t selling Nintendo anymore” and the guy who touched a piece of shit for gameboy Tetris. Good thread. I bought a copy of windwaker cib for $1 from a nigger selling a pile of various shit on a sidewalk in NYC.
>>12808106bro our families werent any richer than billy's we just acted like we were because we were 7 and had battle beasts
>>12808094You sound like an absolute piece of shit
>>12808094This never happened.
>>12808159Then why did his yard look like the junk yard and why didn't he have any battle beasts? His parents were meth heads?
>>12807865Around 2013, I bought an unused copy of Pokemon Silver from the bargain bin at R-Kioski (local 7-Eleven) It must have been found somewhere behind a shelf or in the back room.
>>12807865I got some soccer game (disc, no case) for playstation with some hand-me-down clothes. I didn't even have a playstation.
>>12808094Yeah, I remember being an asshole when I was a kid too. But not *this* much of an asshole. Jimminy Christmas, anon.
This thread is suddenly depressing as fuck
In the year 2000, I traded a mint-condition holofoil first edition Zapdos pokemon card for a Super Gameboy to a kid in middle school. His name was Doug Spears, and he didn't have gum or some, but he had cum. Hope you made a mint off that thing :/
>>12807865I ordered ninja gaiden black while I was sitting on the toilet.
Imagine paying for every video game Or buying 30 year old video games on some chinktendo store
There is this online program on PC where you can just pay to download the games, you don't have to go to the shop, you don't even have to order like shareware, no box, no manual, no disc.Crazy I know you wouldn't believe me
>>12807865never heard of the game. shill me on the americaness.---i bought a couple of CDROMs that were DOS games ported for Win95, but really don't work on Win95 unless you got DOS installed before installing Win95. the game files still work with DOSbox anyway.there were Privateer 1(with expansion pak) and Cybermage: Darklight Awakening. from an old man with a cart next to a marketplace on the sidewalk. just a few bucks each. he also had Diablo 1 and a bunch of stuff.
>>12808094furries need to die faster.
>>12808390I dont know, just redneck shit. did meth even exist back then?
>>12808375and you sound like a faggot, Dave.
None, I just download ROMs online
>>12807865SPOILER THAT SHITI didn't know what happens at the end of that game
>>12807865A car swap meet main for car parts but some guy had a bag of about 6 Atari Jaguar games. It was an old guy and he didn't know anything about them.>>12809148At a cake stall they sold StarWars battle for Naboo on CD Rom.
>>12809207>did meth even exist back then?Kek yes, it's been a common street drug since the 70s. During the period you're talking about was a boom period for it in the US because knowledge had been spread enough for common people to make it but virtually none of the ingredients were regulated yet.
>>12807865I bought nes and genesis games from the library, a grocery store(not a superstore), and a gas station
>>12809148That sounds super gay.
