Didn't knew this was available on the Switch 1 version I should try it.

Doom

It's pretty good but Quake in general on the switch makes my right hand cramp
>>
>>12809804
Anything on the Switch makes my hand cramp. I’m a good pianist and typist too so it takes a lot to get my hands cramping.
>>
>>12809804
I have a Lite and I never had cramps playing with it.

play Slipgate Rangers

Interesting, I was actually referring to the lite.

Unrelated: I know Ironwail is generally the socially acceptable way to play this game, however I have been playing this on steam through Loonix for the last 6 months. The other day I installed steam on my Windoze partition and I hate to admit that it runs and looks better :( now idk if it's drivers or what because it is some piratebay version of windows but I just wanted to share my experience. Probably going to switch to ironwail on both anyway so I can play more community mods/episodes.

Unrelated x2 would anyone be interested in playing co-op later? I've been playing it with my 6 year old and although we've been having a blast, it supports up to 4 players and I had no idea co-op quake was a thing until very recently.

I didn't realize the french played video games.

This was pretty amazing so I'm hoping the switch version holds up as well as PC. Still gotta replay through the PC version on Nightmare. Anyone ITT already accomplish that?
>>
>>12810074
They don't, they live beyond fortified walls around castles with no electricity and empty their shit buckets directly onto the streets through their windows.
>>
>>12810060
esl here, can someone unpack this for me?
is he saying that ironwail runs and looks better than id's steam port? Or that the steam port looks better on windows than on linux?
>>
>>12810114
>the steam port looks better on windows than on linux?

This is correct, sorry. I probably could have worded it better. I haven't tried ironwail yet
>>
Do you remember the first time you played quake?
Mine was in the computer lab of my high school in 99. We played over LAN during lunch. Q1 E1M7. no +mlook, kb only. I was hooked after that.
>>
>>12809186
I’m playing it on quest right now, really enjoying it in vr
>>
>>12809778
It's alright, I'm not a huge fan of the level looping gimmick.

Frag on, Quake cat

I had quake 1 on ps1, quake 2 on n64

I never cared about VR shit but that does look damn fun

Ironically, it’s never gonna be the wave of the future but it’s evolving into an amazing medium for autistic old men. I use it for 90s/2000s pc games, pinball, and Microsoft flight simulator.

>it’s never gonna be the wave of the future
No one thought any of this shit would happen 20 years ago, so don't be so sure of that.
>>
>>12810086
Yeah this is what I assumed too. Baguette peasants.

I am almost done with Dimension of the Machine. I liked it less than Dawn. Level Design is a little jank. I got stuck like 4 times on some corners and had to use flying and no clip cheats to get out.

How is Call of the Machine?

The only part I really didn't like in the new expansion was the floaty islands that sink. That part sucked shit. Artificially long.

I got Quake working on my Wii (QuakeRevPak), aiming with the Wiimote is pretty cool.

I was 13 when Quake 1 released, and was a huge fan of Quake 2 and 3. Played online for a long time. Went to Quakecon several times, too. Lot of fond memories. Did some Quake Live, but have long since lost interest in playing it seriously anymore. I jump in every once awhile, but Quake is dead. Gamers moved on and no one cares about arena shooters anymore, unless they have magical powers or some shit for 1 button winning.

Cool. Thanks for the hot opinions retard

You must be fun at parties. I bet you have tons of friends and lots of sex.
>>
>>12811403
Nah we just play Quake on LAN. You'd know if you had any friends

>Gamers moved on and no one cares about arena shooters anymore
Enough care about the singleplayer portion but yeah, no one’s interested in the potential of being “outskilled” in arena FPS for some reason. It’s been a common complaint on these boards, “I don’t want to try getting into them because there’s people that will stomp me” - as if there aren’t seasoned players in most “pvp” genres.
>>
>>12811972
I don't really see why arena shooters needed to die, I think it was just so many shooters with different ways to play that it seems rather simple maybe... but I don't think anyone has really tried to carry on the legacy, either. It's old news I guess.
