Why haven't you played the Disaster Report franchise yet? We're talking about some early 2000s PS2 Japanese jank survivor games where you try to escape a city as it's crumbling around you, you meet characters that accompany you in the adventure, climb around broken structures, get new clothes and compasses, craft items, drink water and make choices that affect your ending. It's genuinely underappreciated, and it didn't help that the games got shit localizations by Agetec:
>first game is Disaster Report in the US, SOS: The Final Escape in the EU
>second game is Raw Danger! is both
>third game never came out outside of Japan
Also the localization changed the name of every city and character in the games, and made them all blondes 'cause America. Thankfully fan patches restore the original vision

There's also a Disaster Report 4 but it's not Retro. Anyway go play these games, k bye

Played the first

The concept is cool , the execution is very poor

It's not a good game

Raw Dander > Distarer Report 3 > Disaster Report 1 >>> Unrine Engine Slop 4

Nice stroke.

These games feel more like they're for the dev teams than they are the player. They're not bing bing wahoo type fun, they're not autistic fun like getting hooked on some sim game, they're like a movie that you see once and go "huh, that was alright I guess" and never see it again.

What's the best one?

2, easily. They learned from the first and features multiple protagonists that some times cross paths with one another.

I played the first one recently, my impressions essentially match what other anons said ITT. It was neat but nothing spectacular. I do plan on playing the 2nd eventually, though.

Also, how freaking silly is it that the only endings MC-kun survives are the bad endings?
And why does he decide to take such a roundabout, multi-story detour here when his escape flight is just beyond this dinky, easily-climbable fence?

I prefer to cook my dander before I eat it

>the only endings MC-kun survives are the bad endings
But they're not. Hell he becomes a recurring character in the sequels

Is that a retcon? Because I'm pretty sure in every "good" ending he dies with one of the girls. Unless I missed one.

>"jank"
fuck off

Because Septentrion btfo's these games, Raw Danger is probably the best one but even it's got a lot of issues.

Substantiate your claim.
