can't get over how phenomenal this game looks on the PS2, the Xbox/PC versions look soulless in comparison. I'm finding myself stopping and staring at lighting ambiance every few minutes, it makes the early 90s west coast feel of the game really POPWhat are some other examples of ports that are slightly different from each other (not talking about a GBA port of an xbox game for example) with those slight differences adding up to a far superior gameplay experience
>>12810362Need for Speed Most Wanted on the GameCube has most of the lighting and particle effects stripped out. Looks bland and grey compared to the other versions, but often runs at a higher frame rate
>>12810362The first time I played this game was at my friends house and the tubes on his TV were dying or something because I remember it being so dark I couldnt see anything. Your dark CRT reminded me of that day 100 years ago.
>>12810392Some of those TV's just sucked. I remember Doom64 and REmake being almost unplayable on my TV because it just was too dark, even with the brightness cranked. I genuinely don't know why either the TV didn't look wrong for a lot of games but a handful just were too damn dark.
It was made for PS2, the other games are ports. It will always be best on PS2.It also has the snappiest controls of any GTA game. People complain about cars popping up out of nowhere when you're speeding down the road but that's just fucking hilarious, makes getting into accidents nearly inevitable.Best part? ZERO online anything.
Have the fixed the modern gta3 ports yet? I know they had a bunch of things wrong but they finally fixed the color grading
>>12810392>>12810485Some tvs had an annoying setting that emphasized blacks in real time. So if there were any blacks in a scene of a game or movie, that part of the screen would be dark while keeping everything else bright. Problem is, any scene where there's alot of blacks, it's just very dark. Disable that shit always, it's completely inaccurate. Sometimes it was in service menu other times it's tied to a certain mode, like cinema/theater.Or your tv was just dogshit
>>12810362PS2 version have high contrast and deep colors. The perfect combination for a CRT TV to output
>>12810485>Doom64Thats just how that game looks. The remaster over compensated and made it too bright
