How did you play Ocarina of Time for the first time? Did you use any guides?I played it in 1999 on my N64, it was incredible and I didn't use any guides until the water temple. Here's the thing though:The water temple wasn't even hard to me, I just used a guide because I had it, so my kid mind just used it out of fomo I guess, "just in case".Did the other 2 temples the same way. Still greatly enjoyed the game but would have preferred to play it blind. When I replayed it on 3DS, having forgotten all the temples, I really really enjoyed Spirit Temple. Masterpiece. What about you?
I was a pcfag and only had a gameboy, so links Awakening was my only zelda(and i loved it). I got OoT used in either 98 or 99, only vaguely familiar with it from watching my friends brother play it. Loved the fuck out of it. Got the players guide at a flea market game vendor and only used it for the shadow temple, was just neat to look through. When i got Majora i didn't even know it existed beforehand since i never got gamin mags.
Played it on a 64 though it was a good few years after release, 2002 maybe. It was my first Zelda game. The first thing I did was ask "why can't Zelda jump?"
>>12811052Rental from blockbuster and control swapped w a buddy as we took turns making our way through it. I think it took a few weekends to beat it maybe more (was around 12). A lot of fun. Now it’s one of the few games I play every few years. Pretty excited for the remake I cannot lie. And if it sucks, well I’ve been itching to try out OoT on either my A3D or M64 w the overclock option to eliminate fps drops. Here’s hoping the remake is successful so we get Majoras Mask next and hope beyond all hope that they make a third game wrapping up what seemed to be moving into trilogy territory w the setups.
>>128110633rd game would be sweet with just adult link since MM was kid, but im betting money on a twilight princess remake following up this. They even showed all the games playable on switch 2 and that was the glaring omission.(besides DS games)
>>12811052I had the Versus Books guide which was exquisitely written.Followed it to a T because I was a kid.As an adult revisiting it after 15 years I just figured shit out. Was pretty fun.
>>12811052I played it at one of my two friends houses. I had a Playstation and he had an Nintendo 64 so we'd play some mulitplayer games and then switch playing off playing console exclusivesI remember Brave Fencer Musashi was one of the games he played at mine and OoT at his. I've never had any interest in Nintendo properties so it was the best way to experience it
>>12811435And did you play it blind or used a guide/asked your friend for tips?Nothing wrong with any of that btw, if you were a kid, you still beat the game even with help
>>12811438I'm pretty sure we backseated the hell out of each other because kids but I don't remember using guides
>>12811052I only had Majora's Mask, which I hated.Played Ocarina of Time on an emulator in 2010.Used a guide probably 20 times.First time being showing the letter to the Death Mountain guard. Some other times if I recall correctly:- giving a fish to Lord Jabu-Jabu- pushing a tombstone- forest temple location (hookshot)- water temple hidden key- blue flame in jar- bombing the rolling goronI'm a much more experienced player these days.Finished Majora's Mask five years ago, and only used a guide once.It was fucking bullshit. Baby zora were forming a song, and I was trying to play it - but time was running out. Turns out I had to use my ocarina on the professor instead.
