Help, I finally sat down and tried one of these games and I've been playing nonstop for over a week.

I started with PB4 because I had an ancient dreamcast copy my friend gave me years ago when we were still in school. But I have been mostly playing 2X and 3 since 4 is annoyingly hard.

Popping, bubbling, money idling, etc., all welcome here.

4 is really good if you turn off the chain reaction shit

This is a problem that is more pronounced in 4 but I encounter it in the other games, which is that the Vs. CPU matches seem to be totally based on luck after a while. 4 seems to have too many matches that have you instantly lose, though this happens annoyingly on 3 too. After a while you just keep on playing until you get lucky with the game's AI.

Maybe that's every one of these arcade puzzle games tho.

Did a binge of 2 and 3 when I got my Analogue 3D. 3's puzzle mode is especially great and much less stingy with the position of everything than 2
But I have no idea how anyone are realistically supposed to unlock these final extra characters, the requirement is kind of insane
Then again, I kinda suck at it I guess

My most reason versus puzzle playthrough was Stressless Lesson Les Les for the PSX.
The title is the best thing about it. It presents a convincing argument for being the worst Puyo Puyo game ever made.
The concept (Puyo Puyo + Dating Sim) is interesting but the execution is awful. It clearly was made on a shoestring budget. The dating sim aspect of the gameplay is so underused it basically doesn't exist.
It's possible I missed something because I deleted the game in disgust very quickly, but based on that short experience, I wouldn't even recommend trying it out of perverse curiosity.

Is there really no Puzzler wiki? I guess that's what happens when half the Fightcade peeps are just discord all the time
>Falling puzzlers (Tetris, Puyo, Columns)
>Projectile puzzlers (Bobble, Magical Drop)
>Matching puzzles (SameGame, Bejeweled)
>Lemmings puzzles (forgot all the names for these)
Feels like there should be an action one

Susume Taisen Puzzle Dama may have better character animations than the first one, but holy shit those are so overwhelming it gets mixed with your pieces and hinders the gameplay.
