We often discuss how Japanese games are changed for Western audiences, but rarely the reverse. What's your favorite Made-in-Japan version of a Western game? What games would be improved by the addition of anime schoolgirls?
>>12815358Does in include an option for using the Uno Attack?
>>12815358Magical Hoppers (Pandemonium) is a fun example. They didn't even bother with Pandemonium 2.
Battletoads was made easier for the Japanese audiance since they were more casual when it comes to action games
Ultima 3 but it's a JRPG
Famicom Bard's Tales is pretty fun too, it's basically a different game using the same basis, but very much simplified. It feels like a middleground between JRPG and CRPGby comparison Famicom Dragon Wars was much more faithful to the original but still completely rebalanced the game to have a lvl-up/exp system similar to JRPGs where you'll end up in your lvl 50s by the end game
Mother Mansion
>>12815358I was playing NASCAR '97 on Saturn yesterday and actually was just wondering if with how successful the Saturn was in Japan, if players over there were importing the small handful of US exclusive games for the system. Especially with how NASCAR in the 90's was an American cultural icon and Japan has some "western weebs" that are big enthusiasts of americana. So, I guess my answer is, a NASCAR game with anime girls as the drivers, kinda like a racing equivalent to Girls Und Panzer.
>>12815453>>12815454>generic jarpigs with western IP slapped on it
Tomb Raider III is so hardcore they bundled it with a version that give you infinite saves in Japan.
>>12815578What the hell, a seperate disc just for that? seems a little excessive for something that could just be a difficulty setting
>>12815358>We often discuss how Japanese games are changed for Western audiences, but rarely the reverse. That's because "we" includes (You) and (You) have only been here for a few days
is uno serious business in japan?
>>12815578Cool, I didn't know about this.
>>12815437Always thought they should have shown up in the Project X Zone games as a duo unit, assuming Bandai(Namco) owns their designs.
>>12815358is this one of those games where the girls take their clothes off?
>>12815358Uno DX is great, I've been singing its praises for years now.
>>12815704so serious they even made uno 2.
>>12816515But have they made a serious version of Dos?
>>12816970Where is my DOS port of DOS
>>12815443And they didn't have similar demands from the game rental businesses to make games so difficult you couldn't beat it on one weekend
>>12817936Sounds like something Bill Gates would come up with.
>>12817936And they didn't have muh artificial difficulty
>>12815448>Japanese, bakayaro! Do you speak it!?
>>12815589People back then also believed more discs=betterer game.
>>12818057I wish it still was like that.
the uno sim in OP was also on ps1
>>12818057I was very young so I can forgive myself now in retrospect, but I remember when Final Fantasy X came out and it was only on one disc that it made me think it was going to be shittier than 7, which was on multiple discs.I mean I was right but not because of the disc thing.
Abe's Oddysee is a weird one. Some of the more gruesome graphics were toned down and Abe ended up with an extra finger because of some deeply ingrained cultural stereotype about slaughterhouse workers losing fingers.
>>12818296>Abe ended up with an extra finger Not quite, they actually removed a finger to give him three.
>>12815358>What games would be improved by the addition of anime schoolgirls? All of them.
>>12818296>about slaughterhouse workers losing fingers.I think it's probably more a yakuza thing
>>12816162No but it has one of the most hilariously cliché anime openings I've ever seenhttps://youtu.be/bMO9U00pZ3k
