I know I've been away for a while, but it wasn't by choice - to put a long story short my laptop broke and I had to get it fixed (thankfully it's still under warranty)
That's it for today - I'll have more Saturn Power tomorrow!
>>12819267You can tell some of these screens aren't from the final version, the texturing isn't finalized yet. Lobotomy used a converter to turn the Build engine maps to their engine but then had to re-do the texturing and the effects themselves. This is also why some levels especially in the late game aren't as polished in those areas.>>12819348>Ijidkijidk Sun
>>12819234Glad you back.
>>12819923Glad to be back.
That's it for today, more Saturn Power tomorrow!
Has anyone ever seen a mention of Dark Forces getting ported to Saturn in one of those Saturn magazines? I've seen a mention in Computer Game Player June 95 and then nowhere else so I wonder if it was a real thing or that magazine hallucinating. It would have been mid to late 95 as well.>>12821032Interesting interview, especially the part about how they didn't know the existance of some of those Sonic games. >>12821062The suffering of people getting excited about TR2 and Fighting Force continues >>12821072>9£ sounds about right for RoboticaHarsh
>>12819234Man, Nights really turned bad
>>12819356UMK3 was quite iconic in mid 90s.
That's enough for today, more Saturn Power on Monday!
>>12823192Delicious 2d resident evil designs
>>12823297Four 2d fighting games that didn't reach the UK.
>>12825262iirc we didn't get any Fire Pro games over here until Returns on the PS2, and good luck finding a copy of that for a reasonable price nowadays
>>12821121>swines
>>12823261I miss mid 90s render a lot.
>>12819250Thanks for uploading the Official Saturn Magazine back catalogue, anon - much obliged to you! That was a trip. The last few issues were basically 'we have nothing to write about here' - they should definitely have been talking about the Japan scene sooner than they eventually did. Shame it ended so abruptly for them, though.
>>12819348So THIS is the legendary Ijidkijidk Sun mag.Only this issue or did it appear again in later ones?
Are you going to do threads for every Saturn mag ever or just this one? Interesting stuff for sure! Thanks for your work.
>>12830020I'm doing this because someone requested I do every UK Saturn mag, and I'm mostly done. I do take requests, so anything you want will be taken into consideration!
That's enough for today, more Saturn Power tomorrow!
>>12830029Cool, I forget threads like this are automated. Merely because I've never attempted such a seemingly massive task and the one or two storytime threads I ever did on /co/ were done manually XD. These are of course also available on The Archive I imagine. Rock on.
>>12830072Although it's a generalization, this is actually a very good description of the difference between 5th gen games at the time this was written and previous generations.
>>12830087Yeah, doing this sort of thing without a Pass is borderline impossible these days. It's good that you can just buy them without needing crypto now.>>12830101tbf the leap to 3D meant everyone had to relearn everything. Not saying people didn't go overboard with jizzing over polygons and Gouraud shading, but it was understandable at the time

>>12819234I would like more psx and sega saturn form the UK.if not more dreamcast, ps2 and xbox magazines from UKif not then some japanese magazines center in megadrive, saturn ,dreamcast, psx, ps2 and xbox.
>>12830412I'm already going through every UK Saturn and Dreamcast magazine, and PS1 magazines are pretty damn hard to find scans of unless we're talking about OPM UK, and even that has some glaring gaps. However, I can include British PS2 and Xbox magazines in future polls, provided I find any scans.
>>12832459>However, I can include British PS2 and Xbox magazines in future polls, provided I find any scans.OK that is good. Maybe some japanese magazine. Or do one 1995-2000 per country like one from Australia, Italia, Portugal, Brazil, France, Germany, Poland, etc...But for now I prefer british magazines.
