How was it like to go from single screen action games being the norm to scrolling action back in the 80s?
>>12841948Magical
>>12841952Did you guys take it for granted that things just keep getting better, or you imagined that you were at a limited plateau back in the 80s and 90s?
it was madness. pure madness. people didnt know how to handle it. divorce rates doubled. suicide cases skyrocketed. we lost a lot of good people, but in the end, it was worth it.
>>12841954It was magical. I never thought it could be so real. I couldn't fathom anything ever getting better.
>>12841960>couldn't fathom anything ever getting better. And you were right
>>12841948I've seen things you anons wouldn't believe. Attack ships in Asteroids break apart and give chase. I watched Ghosts shimmer in the dark after eating a power pellet. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
>>12841948>single screen action games being the norm to scrolling actionWas this a thing? Defender and Dropzone were pretty early scrolling games, Moon Patrol and Zaxxon too, Spelunker was somewhere in between and I thought they sort of coexisted with single screen games. I guess after SMB and Ghosts n Goblins it became more common for platformers though.
>>12842005Why does that wizard look so fucking peeved?
>>12842035>"WIZARDS could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this realm before. There could be RIVAL WIZARDS anywhere." The cool wind felt good against his bearded chin. "I HATE WIZARDS" he thought. The Laily Worm and the Machrel of the Sea reverberated his mind's ear, making it pulsate even as the 9 copper pieces tobacco circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of spellcasters after dark. "With a teleportation scroll, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.
