>>12842354You play it in the browser. It's done pretty well actually.
Screw this I'm playing the Sierra games on my C64. Absolutely kino looking.
>>12842337Why would I wanna play them in my browser?
>>12842797Easily playing on your phone if you wanted to scratch that itch or road trips, or maybe you don't want to go through the trouble of getting it working natively.
>>12843309ScummVM already exists on phones and has better mouse control options.
>>12842359I like the EGA stuff better too
>>12843472Sure, if you want to take the time to install and set it up. This I can just open in Chrome and play which is pretty convenient for people who don't like installing shit. It appears to support saving too.
>>12843687Imagine using /vr/ and not being able to install a scummvm game, shit is literally just drag and drop
>>12843756Never said I wasn't capable, I said I don't want to. Are you really this gay and dense?
>>12842359Space Quest never released on the C64/
>>12844165It did a while ago
>>12844171Uh, no, it didn't...It did release on the Amiga though.
>>12844198Have you been keeping up? Someone made a homebrew SQ1 port
>>12844165There's an SCI "compiler" that can make C64 versions of most of the SCI games.
>>12844259Why did Sierra never port the games to the c64? It would have printed money.
>>12844336I wondered that too, looks like all the SCI games need more free RAM than the C64 had available even if you get rid of the KERNAL and BASIC routines. This porting engine produces a cartridge so the game can fit on a C64. Maybe Sierra just didn't want to spend the cash to produce 1-2MB carts back then, would have been pretty expensive.
>>12844367Ok that makes sense. They make more profit getting people to buy it for the PC or Apple ][ they use for work/ school.
>>12844378I just suspect they didn't want to go to the trouble of creating a port of their engine that used the C64's graphics and sound to the fullest, which would entail a lot of custom compared to Apple and IBM as lacked sprites and enhanced graphics to the extent C64 has them. I think the engine just "dumbly" takes the vector graphics data and blits it to the screen on all platforms. Maybe it just looked / performed too shit on C64 for them? Apple II versions of AGI games require 128k so maybe that was some part of the issue too.The modern AGI engine for C64 uses the Commodore's hardware more fully and has SID SFX and music. Looks and sounds great.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMmDrlhX_ho
>>12844414Pretty cool this works at all, it seems like it really struggles with the redraw rate when multiple things are changing at the same time. Love the sounds!
>>12844450I should try it at a faster CPU speed, see if that helps or if it messes everything up. With some games it seems to work great, others things get fouled up on the screen or you get crashes.
