Do you play games older than the games that you grew up with?
chess is the ultimate retro game
Not really. Oldest I go is NES and for the PC, DOS. I just don't like the atari 2600 games, they are just too bland even though I was 4 when we had that.
>>12843089Yes, but also no, since I played old arcade games in mame and old rogue-likes as a teenager, so technically I did grow up with them.
>>12843089Yes. I grew up with SNES and PS1, but my favorite Castlevanias are 1 and 3 for example
I grew up with stuff like Asteroids and Pong, which I guess just mostly leaves pinball in terms of /vr/ stuff.Yeah, I play pinball, pinball is cool.
>>12843089I grew up with the 5th gen and 3th gen is the oldest I go, gen 1 and 2 are barely games
>>12843089I can tolerate as far back as NES and SMS, but otherwise no.
Not really. I've played some NES games but I stick mainly to MD/PS1/ARC which is what I grew up with
I grew up starting with the NES.I don’t play games older than that gen, but I play games older than I am on it.Even then I mostly play SNES through PS2.
I'm so young I actually started gaming with the atari, it was literally 2 bit. There is no older games aside from chess and long lost board games
>>12843089I never play NES and like 95% of the GB/C cuz they just straight up janky and unfun. SNES is when shit started to get good.
>>12843089Yes. I grew up with a PS1 but now I most play Arcade games from 1980-1993.
>>12843089Nah, grew up w the NES so that’s as far back as I go. No interest in the era before it other than maybe reading about it to understand how we got to the NES and beyond.
>>12843268Sonic spinball is fucking fun and I’ll hear nothing to the contrary. Just sayin
>>12843089i've been on a pretty steady diet of emulated snes and ps1 games since the mid 2000s. theres just endless ludo between those two consoles
>>12843089My first consoles were N64 and SNES, 6th and 7th gen released as I was growing up, but I love going back to NES/Famicom in particular.
No. I grew up with gen 3 consoles and anything below them is totally unfun for me.
>>12843106My general range here is 90s and early 2000s in this case, though I'll occasionally dip into older arcades and NES. The more of those games I play the more I feel robbed.
