And there's a throwaway line where Asura told her she needs to fight because there's a lot more at stake than it seems. There's nothing morally complex about this at all. Golbez is the evil bad guy. Cecil is the true and righteous good guy. Rydia is virtuous and selfless and takes Cecil's side. It's a bad ass scene and that's all there is to it.
