The Final Fantasy Legend games, what do we think of them? In my opinion, some of the best games on the Gameboy. I thought it was cool how the different races all levelled up differently.
>>12846425>what do we think of them? The game is fine, but your thread making fucking sucks
>>12846442Sorry, maybe if I had porn gay porn as the OP image instead it would've been more up your alley
>>12846425Is this saga or seiken? I can never remember which is which. If its saga then I hate em, they tried to be too fancy while being hamstrung by the gameboy. Handheld shit needs to keep it simple.
>>12846461Adventure is Seiken. Legend I-III are SaGa.
>>12846461SaGa.
Played the first, I remember DEAD CHILDREN AND A NUKE
>>12846425Pretty neat and ambitious for a GB JRPG. Maybe when I need my next JRPG fix, I'll finally jump into the Romancing Saga games.
I played the first one somewhat recently after having only encountered them in Nintendo Power decades before. I was surprised by how much I liked it. Felt a little rough and unbalanced and all that but overall it worked really well for me. I will eventually get around to playing the other two.>>12846502The only other SaGa game I've played is Romancing 2 (via the mobile-ish remake, which seems to be generally quite good as remakes go) and that was also good. It's ambitious and in some ways amazing, but it also feels bloated (like a standard SNES JRPG basically) next to the straight-to-the-point Game Boy one. But regardless it's good and yeah if you're into JRPGs then you should play it. I don't know much about the other two in that subseries though. Actually I just remembered that I did try the first one and it felt VERY rough but I didn't give it much of a chance.
>>12846485Also slaying God with a chainsaw.
>>12846425I only really like FFL1. For some reason, 2 and 3 didn't really click with me.The level up progression was pretty great though. I liked how Mutants encouraged you to grind for stats/spells, Humans had to buy their attributes, and Monsters could potentially get strong quick by eating meat but required some trial and error to figure out what to eat and skip. Felt like Monsters peaked early and humans late while mutants were more balanced between the two.
>>12846425>Final Fantasy Legendjust make a SaGa thread and hope it don't get raided by /v/ bots
>>12847036when a monster guide or that scripted website(which might be ded now), you can easily turn any one of the monsters in the beginning into an endgame monster.>mutants grindingnot really. it's RNG nonsense. if you're really unlucky you will get very unbalanced stats which are underpowered for both magic and attacking with weapons. buying stats for humans is just an expensive grind if you have more than 1 of them.
>>12846425SaGa / FF Legend was Squaresoft's first million seller, not Final Fantasy.
>>12847036The Wonderswan colour remake made it so that you see what the monster will turn into.
>>12846485Don't forget that you can literally TAKE A CHAINSAW TO GOD. As in, CHAINSAW GOD IN HALF.
>>128464251 was okay but I found the last stretch of the game tiresome2 was ace though, loved everything about it because it's the closest to Frontier
>>12847643>>12846951idk it didn't leave as much an impression, maybe because it's such a trite trope (even if the saw sticks out a bit)
>>12846425I played the 2nd game first so its my favorite. They are pretty good games especially for a gameboy game but very easy to beat if you build certain characters. Its hilarious making a super fast and high def robot mowing everything down with an smg for 1/4 of the game. Then you get a tank or gungnir or samurai bow and win the game.
>>128464251 and 2 are great, especially conceptually with all the things it throws at you.3 is by a different team and you can tell. It has a bizarre story that seems to be going everywhere and nowhere, similar to the team's later Treasure of Rudra
What was your team?>1 human, 1 mutant, 2 monsters>2 humans, 1 mutant, 1 monster>1 human, 2 mutants, 1 monster>2 humans, 2 monsters>2 mutants, 2 humans>2 mutants, 2 monsters>4 humans>4 mutants>4 monsters Me? I like two mutants a human and a monster. The human is my carefully controlled tank, the mutants are random chaos, and the monster is semi-random gambling after most battles.
>>12849642One human, three monsters. I had originally played it like the human was a necromancer, raising zombies and skeletons in his quest. I didn't stick with that long since I couldn't find a lot of undead, but the party worked well. The monsters did the heavy lifting early on and cost no money to maintain while the human carried late game with high stats.I tried mutants in a later run and didn't like them as much.
>>128496422 Humans, 1 mutant, 1 monster; because I always like to use a bit of everything in RPGs. IIRC Mutant ended up being the best character at the end and monster the worst >>12847475I was considering playing this but then IIRC I read how it's casualized and I was like, nope>>12847643>>12846951https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFcX0LuX2EU
>>12847115>WITH a monster guide
I always liked the idea of killing a witch and eating its flesh to become a witch yourself, or destroying a robot and shoving its parts up your ass to become a robot.
>>12846502This thread is critically lacking the mother fucking talon theme.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zICpWwRU6I
