Except the game was made by a Japanese company, and in Japan the X symbol does not mean "Ex" or the English letter X, but "cross". So clearly, the title hints that you are supposed to use the Cross, not the Axe.

It's Dracula XX, as in it's a spin off of Dracula X, the real "Dracula Xes" are what the west labelled "Rondo of Blood" and "SotN"; but SotN is only Dracula X by extension, the real Dracula X is the one subtitles Chi No Rondo and it EVEN released in the west under the title "Dracula X" and people STILL get this wrong which would be like insisting on calling Final Fantasy 6 "FF3" even AFTER it re-released in the west as FF6.
