I am going to beat this game today, I am at the very last chapter of the game. Do the other GBA games fall under similar difficulties? I never struggled or lost any characters throughout my playthrough.
Are the gamecube games any better?
>>
>>12849362
Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance are much easier.
>>

>Do the other GBA games fall under similar difficulties?
6 is way harder and focuses more on doing maps quickly (if you want the good ending)
8 is easy as fuck and you can even grind
>Are the gamecube games any better
There is only one game and it's also easy as fuck

People hate on 6 but I think it's the best among these difficulty wise
>>
>>12849362
>play enemy-phase oriented FE
>complain that it's easy
lmao
time to play a real FE.
>>
Play 4 and 5 OP they are much better games that actually present a challenge
>>
>>12849376
Which FE games are actually challenging?
>>
>>12849420
Gaiden if you don't refight any battles to grind.

Can you explain what this means? I haven't played many FE games.
>>

Enemy phased Fire Emblem have you ending your turn early so the enemies all move towards you and kill themselves attacking your strongest units, likely someone like Oswin in fe7, there is no rush to getting to the end of the map.

If you want to see what a player based fire emblem play 6 since it's a sequel to 7 anyway, there you have to complete maps in a limited amount of turns so waiting for the enemies to move towards you is a bad thing
>>
>>12849628
Fire Emblem really should've had zone of control mechanics, enemies shouldn't be able to just walk through gaps like that in one turn
>>
>>12849362
>I never struggled
Press X to doubt.
You didn't even have trouble with the chapter "Battle Before Dawn" as a first timer?
>>
>>12849628
>leave healer undefended for no reason
>leave pegasus knights way closer than they need to be when there's a big body of water to park them over
You got what you deserved.

Safy, my parties trusted cleric, examining me.

>>12849628
Why did you move that cavalier in the first place?
>>
>>12849936
Ah, okay. That makes sense. I'd seen that distinction before but never got what it meant. I'll try out FE6 sometime, too.
>>
>>12849362
if you can beat that one, you can beat sacred stones. roy's game has bullshit but it's not much harder.
>>12849936
>If you want to see what a player based fire emblem play 6
you're a fuck ass liar. that game rewards you the most by chucking someone into a mob with a javelin and waiting more than the other gba games. and there is only a total of 4 chapters per playthrough where your turn count matters. get the fuck out. you can argue ranked runs but 7 puts you on a timer in that case too. no rush in 8 though yeah, outside of missing out on village/chest treasure.
>>
>>12851048
What FE would you recommend for a player phase focused game?
>>
>>12851048
FE6 is a player-phase game though. Your units generally suck ass, the enemy units are a lot stronger and present a more consistent threat, and more of your fighting happens on player-phase. This isn't to say it's impossible in any FE to get an overpowered flyer/cavalier/whatever and park them in the middle of a crowd, but the overall statistical leaning of player-side/foe-side tends to be toward weaker allies and stronger foes, necessitating a more proactive playstyle.
>>
Having finally played FE4 all the way through, it's neat but at the same time I understand why they never did something like it again.
>>
>>12851142
It should've been the standard going forward. Alas it was too grand and niche for general audiences, they'll never understand the unironic zen of navigating a barren battlefield after a hard fought victory, they'll just whine about not being able to teleport or whatever.
>>
>>12851531
I mean more of having less stages as a result
>>
>>12849397
>that actually present a challenge
5, sure, but 4 is easy once you realize how easily broken in two it is mechanically. Also Sigurd is historically one of the strongest Lords in the franchise.
>>
>>12850005
OP here, nah I'm an experienced player who's played harder tactical games before. FE was easy. I finished it last night btw, the last 2 maps are the harder ones and I'd even say the last one is easy as well. I did lose a couple of characters at the end but meh, they just didn't show up in the credits.
>>
OP here, thanks for all the discussions. I have decided to play FE6 next and afterwards I might play some of the SNES ones. I am curious to know what happened to the cast 20 years later since FE6 is a sequel...
>>
>>12851118
Its more that accuracy is a problem in FE6 for most weapon types barring Swords, Bows and Anima which is then compounded by Ch1 to 5 having bugged hard mode bonuses that artifically inflate enemy stats more than they should have.
Unless you're playing for super ltc, there's enough time for you to develop supports to assist with overall combat. For example Alan/Lance, Ward/Lott or Roy/Lilina can easily build up supports without any special effort. In fact, you can spend on average 20 turns on each map and still get A Tactics and you don't have to keep the filler jobbers either.

Furthermore, for a newer player, I'd say they'd be better served to play defensively outside of specific instances like 11A/10B.

I beat this game so long ago FUCK. I was young and got laid and could go drinking with my buddies and had a job and there was a future for us and stuff.

What the hell happened
>>
>>12851916
We were all young at some point...heck there was a time where I would pull 2-3 different women and fuck them in one day, there was a time where I had a harem. 2-3 jobs simultaneously, I had friends where I would go out 4-5 times a week. etc.
Now I am a middle aged man who beats Fire Emblem and plays a chapter of the game every day. I don't even care about dating anymore.
