Sell me on this console. Why should I play it?
>>
>>12849750
I heard it has a good shmup library.
>>
It's more fun than making gay low effort threads where you need a strangers approval to enjoy something.
>>
>>12849750
i dont care if you play this console
>>
Sell me on selling you on it. Why should I sell you on it?
>>
Just emulate elsewhere. The mini was a fun novelty when it came out, but you've missed the boat, so it's not worth getting for the shell and controller now, especially if you want to play it with friends and would need the multitap and extra controllers

I don't know, see anything you like?

It's got a pretty unique iibrary compared to SNES and Genesis/MD which is fun to check out after you've played most of the good stuff on those. It's basically the Saturn of it's generation

I picked up the PC Engine version when it was new, wish I had gotten a spare controller. I can't really read Japanese though so it kinda sucks having games like Snatcher and Tokimeki Memorial but not really being able to play them
>>
>>12849848
I ordered one of the Hori ones as an extra, but Amazon sent a bulk case which had four of them in by mistake.
Felt obliged to get the Turbo Tap at that point, just in case the need to play multiplayer Bomberman or Dungeon Explorer arose
it hasn't so far
>>
>>12849838
Yeah, what's that Metroid SRPG lookin game?
>>
>>12849838
Most of these you can just emulate the arcade versions and get the actual intended experience, console ports of arcade games are obsolete
>>
>>12849826
The only point I see to owning any mini console is the Genesis Mini 2, and that's only because it contains a special version of Space Harrier II. Sucks that it's locked to a glorified ARM device.
>>

>Sell me on this console.
No
>Why should I play it?
You shouldn't. You should go back to school and learn that you don't play a console. You play games on a console. You will immediately cease and not continue to access the site if you are under the age of 18.

TurboGrafx 16 stuff is just stupidly expensive though so the mini was a decent compromise for people wanting to collect something physical. But the Mini is $300 now so even that's not a good alternative anymore

>TurboGrafx 16 stuff is just stupidly expensive though
Not the CDs, since they don't have copy protection. ;)
>>
>>12849842
This. It's just more 2D goodness, just a little more strange and more Japanese.
>>
>>12849750
if you're talking about the library, yeah there are some good games on there if you like rpgs and know moon runes. a lot of the shmups for it are just arcade ports. some of the platformers are nice though. I really liked The Legendary Axe

Overall it's basically the Saturn of gen iv with bonk instead of nights. shmup ports and weeb jarpigs and a mascot game.
>>
>>12849865
think that's Vasteel 2

It has Bonk
Which is a kewl video game sir
>>
>>12851864
>bonk
Played Bonk 1 and Revenge for the first time just a few months back. Very solid games especially the 2nd. Played around with 3 for a bit just messing around and I could tell right away it was a downgrade. Will definitely go back and give it another try someday.

I play every turbo graphics game for free on my computer. Lots of fun games on there.

>>12849750
Use Google to get the games and play them without buying their console, dummy. It has a slew of fun games.

It's Japanese version is damn sleek.
>>
>>12850908
>a lot of the shmups for it are just arcade ports
Yes but it has good ports and some solid originals.
>Nexzr
>Blazing Lazers
>Soldier Blade
>Super Star Soldier
>Spriggan series
>>
>>12855109
>Japanese version is damn sleek.
The small size makes it having only one port make more sense.
>>12855127
Don't forget Air Zonk. Was playing Super Star Soldier this afternoon. Pritty gud!
>>
>>12855109
The only real downside is the lack of turbo buttons on the controller but it looks way nicer than the T16 mini and has a few extra games like Tokimeki Memorial. Wasn't there a Supergrafx mini too?

Ah, nevermind. Not a Supergrafx but I knew I remember there being a third variant though
>>
>>12849750
it runs a 65c02 so it's like an NES with better graphics
>>
Controller is super comfy. Anyone ever try the arcade stick?
