Def generally scales poorly and Str can be offset by making stronger weapons. At minimum, you should put at least one point of agi each level.

As usual, there's no elemental weakness system, only resistances, so just load up on whatever spells that your partner has the most of.Agility is the strongest stat, so you'll end up spend the majority of the game sinking all of your points into it. Far too many weapons feel functionally worthless without it.Swords, Axes, Spears and Drills have slightly modified normals based on the ore that you craft with. Swords/Drills are better with the classic moveset while Axes/Spears are better with the alternate one.Do all of the sidequests. Money will be tight early on since you're constantly broke investing into shapestones and stuff, but once you get to Suruga Mines, you can start selling weapons and be money positive.There's a LOT of ore that you can only get by breaking weapons and sidequests. So you need to carry an arm breaker weapon. The earliest one is Heavy Gold Ore + Sword, but you can also make your own via Switch of Ruin upgrades. Once that weapon is made, don't break it until when you unlock skill/ability inherit at Rank 5. Same goes for other weapons with good passives like Elegant Bow.Story is by far and away the most battle shonen of them all. 1 has the best written narrative overall.Not a big fan of the game having so many forging materials because it feels like you're trading them out as fast as you get them. They could have easily cut it down by a third or even a half and went with more meaningful upgrades and passives per variant.
