It's great

God didn't we just have this thread.

It's very good, but it has a bit of a grind, the gameplay loop is that you go into a dungeon, try and manage your resources (health and MP) as you descend, you will inevitably need to teleport out of the dungeon and heal up, but you'll have gained levels and created shortcuts so your next trip will be easier. If that sounds tedious to you, maybe don't bother, but if you can accept the grind the dungeons and art are great, it has phenomenal music and a good variety of puzzles and locales.

>>12851432
yeah but it's stuck on the shitty Saturd
why don't those niggers making AI slop decomps/recomps do one for games like this instead of shit that can be easily emulated
>>
>>12851848
>xhe thinks they do it for love of the medium
Anon it's all for internet clout, you'll only see first party ninturd titles getting decomps and sega freaks porting popular (and better) games made from other companies to the dreamcast.
>>
>>12851432
Yes if you’re into that kind of game.
>>
>>12851432
I used to watch playthroughs of it it's very entertaining just to watch. Very good stuff.

Shining Force 3 all 3 of them is also excellent but not shining wisdom at all.

>I used to watch playthroughs
Why would you do that instead of playing the game yourself?
>>
>>12852154
Imagine playing 20+ year old games in 2026, what a retard.
>>
>>12852154
I never said I didn't play it I just said it's entertaining just to watch.
>>
I dont like how theres a long Walkback from town just to GET to the massive dungeon, especially when half the time attempting to flee battles is impossible
>>
I hear there’s a dungeon that you can flip between the floor and ceiling. Sounds rad.

Do you have to ask every single week? Please tie a knot around your neck and do the needful.

I'm actually the guy that made the thread however many days ago.

I'm getting close to the end of Scenario 3 of Shining Force III and there have been a bunch of references to the events of this game. What exactly are Julian and Galm's roles in it? I know Julian is just an NPC but does he only have one or two lines or is it more than that? Also there's all the Innovators vs Vandals stuff and I feel like I might be missing a part of the full story if I don't play StHA but I don't usually like dungeon crawlers.
>>
>>12852516
Julian's role is very minimal. He's a kid NPC his town who says his dad went to the forest and never came back. I thought it was a sidequest and went look for his dad but turns out the whole point is the dad's nowhere to be found.

But there is quite a bit about Vandals but iirc you had everything you needed to know about that in the library of the haunted mansion in disc 1
>>
>>12851481
So they turned Shining into another Wizardry clone?
>>
>>12855064
That's actually how Shining started, Shining in the Darkness was a first person dungeon crawler before Shining Force. Maybe that's what you meant by "another" though.

It's kinda cool how it worked out, Shining in the Darkness established the world that would be used for the later 16-bit and Game Gear games (however loosely), then a new first person dungeon crawler comes out on Saturn and establishes the setting used for Shining Force III. I imagine if Camelot kept making Shining games we might've seen more in that setting.
>>
>>12852256
That dungeon is bullshit and I hate it, you can only flip in certain squares

I've been trying to screenshot all of the important lore bits as I play through Shining Force III. There were a bunch of references to Julian's hometown and some of the other Shining the Holy Ark characters. I think they probably meant for people to play StHA first, though it does feel like I got the gist of it just from SFIII. I'm probably going to play it next anyway.
