Happy Halloween!

Post some retro enemies that scared you when you were younger.

This game is so cozy so you let your guard down, then boom. Seahats. Fuck these things man.
>>
>>12852339
I hate to say it, but these fucks, or more accurately Regeneradores, single-handedly made me drop the game, and so I've yet to actually beat it. They were too scary and stressful for my candy ass to deal with back in the day. Perhaps one day I'll man up and pick it up again and properly beat the game.

Arch-Viles in Doom still stress me some. I can deal with them, even taken some with Berserk or Chainsaw when the opportunity was good, but hearing one skulking about without me knowing where it is makes me sweat.

10/10 enemy, would kill again.

They do their job well. Still also make me sweat a bit, but they are mostly slow, so until you get the infrared scope for the rifle, your best bet is to hose them down center mass with the TMP, eventually you'll run down their HP regardless of if you hit their hidden parasites directly.

You CAN shoot off their legs, but this is counterproductive.

Honestly the ReDeads in Wind Waker freaked me out more than the ones in OoT despite the cartoony art style. Probably because they have a much more unnatural-sounding scream that sounds like a dying elephant.

I think this was the very first thing in a video game I was scared of as a kid. Wallmasters have very slow movement making them easy to avoid, they're completely non-lethal and just send you back to start if they do catch you, but for some reason I thought they were more terrifying than Gannon himself. None of the future Zeldas' wallmasters have been nearly as terrifying.

>screen suddenly turns black
>that dog starts to bark at you aggressive as fuck
This scared me more back then than it should kek.
Btw the game is actually quite nice for a movie tie-in, gameplay-wise it's basically Metal Gear with chicken.

Wolf 3D was the spookiest game for me as a kid.
Probably the combination of abrasive PC speaker sound and intense 3D visuals! I was kinda acoustic so I guess it overwhelmed my senses.

Scared the shit out of me as a kid

Probably why the PC speaker sound was so abrasive to him.

I always found the Mumblers and Bubble Heads scarier.
