I like the waves in Aces of the Deep, pretty nice for '94.

That's really incredible for those times, yeah.

imagine this is water instead of lava, but Quake's liquid-surface movement effects are pretty iconic IMO

I remember being very impressed at the time how good the water in Star Fox Adventures looked. Namely the little creeks everywhere from the hub-like area Fox starts out in.

Anybody have the webm of that fps where someone shoots a water tank and the water drains at different speeds from the bullet hole height?

I appreciate when people do deep water effects for Doom maps (either the classic mapping trick, or the Boom effects), it's that extra bit of nice detail that builds your immersion a bit more.
>>
I remember thinking the water in Morrowind had insane reflection for its time.

If you had GF3 (and even if you had, water shaders effect wasn't implemented from the start, there was an early patch, as I recall; at least it worked that way for me).

Tropical angel had impressive water wake/waves for 1983. Also the also first game to ever have ass jiggle.

The emulated version makes the water purple though, but in the real arcade it was blue.

I think it's the pic.
But it's a genuinely and unironically bad game, don't try to fish it out.

That's neither water nor retro, faggot.
